After calming Alex down we stared at one another, "We are going to take this conversation step by step and you can open your mouth to speak when I am done. Do you understand?"
He nodded and stayed silent, "The reporter who snuck into our system is Jordan Macauley, the harmless yet still affiliated brother of Jack Macauley. He and his brother needed to get into our systems for something and I guess it was important enough for them to try and hack into our systems to do it. Jordan Macauley wanted to write a paper about me and when I found out about it he honestly folded but yesterday I met his brother Jack one on one for the first time. He's honestly a cocky bastard and only wanted to hack into our systems for some reason, I tried to figure out why but until I get back the hard drive with the information they stole we're going to have a consistent issue. I need you to rerun diagnostics and find out exactly whatever they stole, duplicated, or messed with in our system and how they did it." I ordered. I realized this wouldn't be as productive with everyone else not here because I needed to talk to them too.
We sat and waited for everyone to arrive for me to repeat everything I had to say. Picking up where I left off I turned to Savva, "I need a meeting with Mr. Macauley and Alex I need you to be-," I turned to him already knowing I was going to have an issue. The look on his face showed it all: the terror, the worry, and the distrust. I would need to call my actual lawyer to tag along for this meeting. "It's okay Alex if you can't do it, Tristan I need you to look at all the tech in the company and get your special friends to tell me who and why and how much to fix whatever they did. I also need you to make sure they don't go poking into my business because I don't like making people disappear but if I have to I'll get one of those little hacking bastards thrown into a government hole before they know what hit them," the venom in my voice was not uncommon for my friends. They had heard it before but rarely did I ever let myself get so upset and bothered. Someone was fucking with me and I wanted to know why and how so I could fuck them back a million times harder. My company was my life and someone was putting that at risk and I didn't like it. I exhaled and did my numbers exercises to keep me calm before I committed a crime.
"I'll get it done," Tristan said. Savva nodded before looking at his phone quickly. Goldi looked at me eagerly, "What can I do to help?"
"Goldi, keep them in line while I'm gone tonight okay?" I glanced at all of them, "I need every piece of tech scrapped, scrubbed, and replaced. Goldi, Tristan, and Alex you guys can make sure all of the students comply and do what is asked of them." Goldi smiled widely before teasing them on how she had the best job. "You guys can head out Alex and I need to talk," I digressed, they left and Alex hung back sitting across from me.
"Alex I don't blame you for what happened I just hate not knowing what is happening around me," I admitted as they took the plates away.
He responded by telling me he understood and we moved on to discuss other business, "Your stocks in Carter's businesses have had a wonderful increase. I guess whatever deal he had been involved in has allowed for him to expand and made everyone's pockets fat. The college fund you created for the girls has just passed two hundred thousand."
"We'll cap it at three, just in case they had graduate school business or something like that, I need you to schedule our group therapy appointment and well as our individual appointments for the upcoming week after the next. Transfer the six hundred from my account to the house account. Remind me that we need to stop at a bank so I can gather their allowances and stop at a grocer to get their things together and stock the house for them."
I texted the girls that I would be coming over and that we would have our bi-monthly chat and update.
Me: I would like to see those test and quiz scores as well and a full update on high school for my little freshmen. I want teachers names and behaviors, clubs or sports, maybe a job. And anything else you'd like to tell me. I'm coming over in two hours is that alright with you guys? Grocery shopping?
