Lucas Wild
Somehow, someway. Even when I was younger, I always knew I'd be the disappointment of the family. My older brothers Michael and Milo were the football players of the family. They also got all the smarts. Last year they graduated, both getting full rides to play football at the state university. While my younger sisters, Poppy and Penny, are the stars of my school's volleyball team. Even though they're only sophomores. I'm the captain of my school's soccer team, the East High Raiders. Everyone in my family tells me I act just like my Uncle Joey and that I'll never amount to anything. All I do, every day, is try to prove them wrong. "Lucas. Lucas!" I hear someone yell directly in my ear. I turn beside me and see my on and off girlfriend, Ashley. "What the fuck are you yelling for?" I ask her in a deadly calm voice. "You were zoned out. You have to help me with this." She replied as if I didn't just use my most threatening voice. "What am I supposed to help you with?" I ask her in my best 'leave me alone voice'. "Prom Decorating Committee. Duh." She got picked to do the prom committee and now she's dragged me into it. "Fuck this shit. Do it yourself. I'm out." I say to her as I get up from my seat, walking out. But just before I'm fully out the door I hear the relieving words, "Fine. Then we're over!" She practically yells across the library. Just before the librarian shushes us both I spit out, "Fine by me."

I run through the door just before the bell rings and take my seat just as Miss. Williams walks through the door. She is the strictest teacher I've ever had. It's gotten to the point that if you not in your seat by the time she walks in you get a detention. Thank god I wasn't late. I can never be late because then I won't get to practice after school. Speaking of, "Hey, Marie- ." I say to one of the girls that I practice with. " -whose teaching today's practice?" I whisper in the smallest voice I own. She turned to me and just as she was about to answer Miss. Williams shouts across the room. "MISS. YOUNGE, TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE, NOW!"
I look over to Marie, hoping she'd still answer. She shrugs her shoulders and looks forward, avoiding trouble, me, like the plague. I grab my bag heaving it over my shoulder and as I walk out of the classroom I think,
I wonder if they'll still let me go to ballet?

Sitting in the chair, I look down at my recently bruised knuckles, thinking about the fight. That bitch had it coming to him. Nobody talks about my family and gets away with it. Some punk decided it would be a good idea to spread a rumor about Poppy, saying she'd slept with the entire soccer team. Dumbass. I'd known it was true because I'm the captain of the soccer team. Once again, Dumbass. Since I knew this wasn't true I did what was needed to shut it down. Ding, I wonder who that is. I turn my head to the side, checking who just walked in. And that's when I saw her. She had dark brown hair and green doe eyes. She walks as if she was hovering off the floor floating to the desk. And then I saw the worry on her face. What's wrong? I wanted to ask. But that would be weird, I don't even know her name. All I knew was she drew me to her like a moth to the brightest light. I try to ignore the sensation as she sits with her legs crossed right across from me. She stares at me for a while before blushing and quickly looking down. She's adorable. I can't take this any longer if I don't leave I'm gonna end up saying something stupid, I think. I get up glaring at her all the while and leave. Nobody gets to make me feel like that, because if do she'll just realize how horrible I am and leave. Just like everyone else.
