Matteo slammed down the tablet on the table harder than what was necessary. The evidence of anger crossed his face. He was always one to control his temper, but this was out of the picture. Everyone had known by now, especially by the numerous videos projecting the scene from every angle, all put together 'fashionably' on Fab and Chic.
"Easy, bro. I know your mad, but no need to let it out on my tablet. It's not good to let your anger control you. It gets you nowhere," says Simon sympathetically, patting his arm.
But Matteo's mind was barely paying attention. He was thinking about the many ways he could kill the brute that hurt his girlfriend.
"Earth to Matteo. Yoo-hoo," Simon called out, snapping his fingers in front of Matteo's face.
"Huh."
Simon sighed. He opened his mouth to say something only to be interrupted by Luna. It was the first time he had seen her today, so he was clearly taken aback by the purple that was so evident on her face.
"Luna! How many times do I have to tell you to take care of yourself." He whined. "Here, I'll get you some ice."
By what Matteo could tell, she was trying to pull on a puzzled expression. "What's he talking about?"
"Luna, don't play games with me."
"I don't know what you're talking about, Chico Fresa." She crossed her arms.
"Okay...I would like for you to explain this video." Matteo lifted up the tablet to her view, showing her the clear evidence that ruled out her useless lies.
"Oh. That."
Before she could protest any further, Matteo had pulled her down onto the couch and wrapped his arms around her. She found herself laying on his chest; her only comfy place. Luna honestly felt like a bunch of weights had been lifted off her shoulders. This needed hug relieved everything within her and she felt like she could stay like that for a long, long time. He slowly played with her hair. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Luna was silent for a moment, knowing that this question would have eventually been thrown at her by him. "Because..."
"Because why?" He was mumbling into her hair now and his voice was steady and calm, yet it was hinting how worried he actually felt. This was why she didn't want to tell him. He would worry too much and then act without thinking. Act out of his senses.
"Because...because." Simon had silently handed Matteo the ice and left quickly, for he knows from experience to never interrupt them whenever they were together unless someone was dying. Matteo placed the ice carefully on Luna's cheek, sending a chill down her spine and not because of the ice.
"Luna, I'm not playing this game with you." His voice was stern and Luna knew she had to give in now.
"Okay, fine." She takes a deep breath. "Chico Fresa, the thing is that you tend to get a tad overprotective over me. And if I had told you, you would've killed him. Not that I would've minded that part, but I don't want you getting involved and getting yourself hurt in my situations." She paused and moved away just enough to see his face. "I care about you and you don't deserve the to get hurt for my faults."
Matteo had gone silent. Luna couldn't quite read the expression that was now fixed on his face and was worried that she may have said something wrong. Her worries were useless since he had pulled her back so that her face was against his chest once again. He hugged her tightly, his chin resting on her shoulder.
"You know I love you. That's why I worry about you. And you may have been correct about me having plans on killing him, but trust me, nothing's going to happen to me."
