Chapter Fourteen 🖤

"Remember this" he asks removing his hands from my face

I blink my vision back to normal and we are in the woods.

There's a blanket covering the ground with a million different foods carefully laid on silver platters. Fairy lights twisting around the tree stumps and hanging from their branch like arms.

"Ah you mean the place where I almost died?"

"No" Grayson states stepping closer "I mean the place where I first saw you"

"Ooh don't get soppy on me now big guy" I chuckle nudging his arm "why did yo- what is this?"

"I just thought it was a nice place to get you away from Ethan for a while. I understand he can be really pushy at times and that must be hard on you so I decided to bring you here and spend some time to-"

"So a date?" I cut him off

"Uhhh" he scratched his head and paused for a couple seconds "sure?"

"Hmmm" I scan across the ground and my eyes fall on chocolate fudge cake "OMG MY FAVOURITE DESSERT" I rush to sit down and grab the plate "I can not wait to eat this"

Before I could put a piece in my mouth, Grayson snatches it from me leaving my mouth hanging open.

"I want some too" he explains putting it down beside him

"Do you even know what that is?"

"Y-yes of course I know what that is. I made it"

I raised an eyebrow, encouraging him to carry on.

"It's a uhhh... sweet, muddy brown, soft, sticky piece of food"

"Chocolate Fudge Cake" I state laughing at his answer

"Yeah yeah I know" he laughs, handing me a plate of food.

"Can I eat the cake now?" I beg "I've been looking forward to it for ages"

"Uh yeah" he hands it to me and I instantly smile

"Want some?"

"No no, you enjoy" he answers

I shrug my shoulders and shovel some of it into my mouth. The chocolate made my taste buds explode and I moaned in satisfaction. Grayson just sat there watching me as I continued eating.

I finished and put the plate on the patchwork blanket.

"Would you, umm, like to dance?" I hear Grayson ask

"Mmm love to" I answer standing up holding my hands out for him to take.

As soon as his fingertips brushed mine, I felt electric shoot through my body and I couldn't help but move closer to him. Music started playing out of nowhere and Grayson's grip on my waist tightened as we waltzed around the trees and deeper into the woods.

"Grayson" I start but pause for a couple of seconds "thankyou for tonight, it's been amazing"

"It was my pleasure beautiful" he whispers into my ear

"B-beautiful?" I stutter

"Is the definition of you" he states seriously and I couldn't help but smile

I think I like you Grayson.

"I like you too"

"How did yo-"

"Just because you're a vampire now Alexa doesn't mean I can't hear your thoughts anymore"

"Do you actually like me?" I question terrified of what his answer would be

"Darlin' I really like you" he explains and once again butterflies tickled my stomach and for the first time in forever...

I felt complete.
