Another One To The Family

Waking up the next morning to find the bed empty next to me I got myself up and out of bed and looked around the house to find Björn was not there so I dressed myself throwing on my fur and walked out of his home, everyone watched me as I made my way through the village to my parents place I could hear them whispering to one another as passed by them so I pulled my hood up over my head and continued on my way.

I followed the path I have walked for years as a child down to the river side, I couldn't help but feel the tree as I passed by them remembering the stories my father would tell me about each tree I couldn't help but smile at the memory's, I continued down the path to find my parents talking outside and from the tone in my mother's voice she was excited about something but i could not make out what they was saying to each other

"What is so exciting?" I asked, my mother turned around at the sound of my voice smiling as i made my way over to them

"My sweet leaf"She said pulling me into her arms

"I have something to tell you"She said, i pulled back from our hug and looked at her curiously waiting for her to tell what had made her so happy

"What is it?"I asked looking between her and my father

"I am with child"She said, i could help but smile at her i know how long my mother has been trying and now

"this is wonderful mother!" I said pulling her into a hug

"that is not all"

"What do you mean?"I asked pulling away from her again

"We have decided to get married"My father said i couldn't help but smile i was so happy for my parents but it did kinda bother me that this new baby was coming and all the sudden they want to marry now? Why did they not marry when i was young? What was the rush to wed now?.

I excused myself and walked up the hill to what was my home and gathered the rest of my things as my father came through the door he knew something was bothering me, he always knew.

"What is wrong my child?"

"Was i not enough to make you and mother wed?"I asked as i turned to him

"What is so special about this child that you thought of taking mothers hand?"

"Laufey-"He started but i cut him off

"Was my birth not enough to make you wed her?"

"That is not it at all my sweet leafy, we wanted to wed but it wasn't the right time"He tried to explain to me but i was tried of his excuses i grabbed my thing and headed for the door

"This child will not be loved more then you! You was a special gift from the gods. You came at a time when we needed you the most"He said crossing the floor over to me taken my hand

"You saved me when no one else could, your sweet little face reminded that the gods will grace you with such sweet gifts when you need them the most"

"Please don't be angry with us my sweet little leafy" I sighed before looking up at my father there was just sadness in his blue eyes

"Im happy for you both"I told him giving him a hug before picking up my things and walking up the hillside and made my way through town to my new home as Björn was coming out of the hall and he didn't look happy but i seen a grin come to his face when he seen me

"Why do you look so down?"He asked helping me carry my things

"My mother is with child"I said plainly

"Are you not happy?"

"They are to wed"

"I don't see whats wrong"He said opening the door for me
