A/N: choosing

I walk out side and get in the truck.
"How did it go?" He asked.
Great, it turns out I'm divergent and I can trust no one so yeah, great.
"Fine." I reply
He nods and starts the truck.
Once we get home, my mom greats us at the door.
"Hi honey how'd it go?" I asked a second time today.
Once again, great.
"It went fine." I say, not voicing my thoughts out load.
We walk in and I head up the stairs.
"Don't you want dinner?" Mom asked.
"Not hungry." I call back
I go up into my room and fall asleep almost immediately. That test is tiring.
I wake up on my own.
Oh great, today is the day where I get to make my life decision and determine if I truly belong anywhere in this society. Probably not.
I get out of bed and put on a tight red shirt, and red leggings. I top it off with a yellow jacket and yellow sneakers.
I pull back my fire colored hair into a low loose ponytail.
My mom walks in to wake me up.
"Oh, you already up! Lets eat breakfast and go then!
I go down and grab a protein bar, grimacing at the toast mom was eating .
My dad meets us down stairs, having already eaten we all get up and go.
We walked out the door and I got in the truck.
"So honey, you are going to be happy, smile, don't let down your faction. Don't let down this family." My mom instructed.
"So you want me to be a fake?" I asked
" No. You're going to be happy. And when you choose Amity you-" She started.
"Maybe I won't choose Amity! Maybe I'm not happy! Did you ever think of that?! Or were you to busy worrying about your own reputation?!" I interrupted her screaming.
My parents were speechless. We rode the rest of the way in complete silence.
"Let's go in. Remember, smile!" My dad exclaimed giving me a pointed look. I rolled my eyes.
Fake.
When we arrive I feel an anxiety attack coming on.
I walk into the big building and sit down in the amity section.
I stare straight ahead. I see the five bowls.
Everyone calms down (except the dauntless of corse.)
A lady in Erudite blue stands on the stage and makes an opening speech. She says how while we should trust the test we have the opportunity to choose whatever faction we want to.
Multiple kids are called and the majority of them choose the faction they were raised in.
Finally my name is called. I walk down to the platform and take the knife offered to me. I slide it across my palm, making a clean, stinging cut.
Oh the sweet pain of choosing.
I look at my parents, they both give me encouraging smiles.
I'm sorry.
I raise my hand and let my dark red blood fall into the dauntless flames. It sizzles on impact.
The dauntless start cheering immediately.
Oh god, is this right? Why dauntless? What did I do? What did I choose?
I walk up to them and I'm enclosed by this crazy crowd of dauntless people.
I look up at my parents and for the first time in my life I see something besides happiness in my fathers eyes. I see.... Anger
