Midnight I Love You: Ron.
It was weird dating now.
You hadn’t dated since you’d broken up with your boyfriend a few years ago. Shortly after, you found out that you were pregnant and you had a little girl. After that, you just didn’t have the time for dating.
But something had told you to make time for a man called Ron, whom you met at a café. And you were glad that you had.
Ron was kind and sweet. He loved both you and your daughter, Poppy. He treated you like a queen and your daughter like she was his own. You had only been dating for a year, and he often took you out on ‘family trips’ and often spent the night over at your home.
Like tonight for instance.
You snuggled into Ron’s chest, listening to his heartbeat.
“Mommy?”
You sat up in bed and saw Poppy standing in your doorway, clutching her stuffed rabbit to her heart.
“What’s wrong?” you asked her.
“I had a bad dream.” She said, sniffling.
“Do you wanna sleep here with us?” Ron asked.
Poppy nodded and ran over. She jumped on the bed and snuggled in between the two of you.
“Good night, Mommy. Good night, Ron. I love you.”
“Love you too, baby.” You said, lying back down.
“Ron? You didn’t tell Mommy I love you.”
You opened your eyes and froze.
While you were sure that you loved Ron, you had never actually said that to him. And he hadn’t said it either.
Ron smiled in the moonlight.
“I love you, Y/N.” He said, taking your hand.
“I love you too.” You said softly.
Shortly after, Poppy fell asleep.
“Y/N?” Ron whispered. “I meant it. I do love you. A lot.”
You were grateful that he couldn’t see you, as your entire face was red.
“I meant it too.”
And with that said and done, you fell asleep with your little family.
