the next day, corbyn had been lazily brushing his fingers through his blond hair, the full-length mirror fixed on the wall in front of him. his eyes were dull, not showing the normally greenish blue eyes that everyone loved.

corbyn had plans today for once, rather than staying at home alone worrying about daniel's safety; because maybe he didn't worry back. maybe corbyn would have a stress free day for the first time in forever.

the blond placed a small smile onto his face before leaving his bedroom. if he wasn't as happy today, then maybe he could create it himself. before exiting his and daniel's apartment, corbyn checked every room on the bottom floor for some kind of note indicating daniel's reasoning for leaving so early; nothing.

corbyn shut the door with a slight slam, immediately regretting it for no particular reason. he soon hopped into his car, turning on some soft music from the radio. oh how his life seemed to be falling apart, yet he was still managing to enjoy it.

upon arrival, corbyn felt a pulse of excitement rush through his veins. he hadn't seen his best friends in what felt like years, but had only been a few months. as he walked up to the doorstep, corbyn could feel his sadness washing away, being replaced with joy.

"corbyn! haven't seen you in a bit, bub." jonah swing open the door, throwing his arms around the younger, who's giggles had been muffled into his chest. "i know, i know. i've been really busy. i'm sorry, jo." corbyn pulled away, a small smile upon his face as he was let in.

as he lightly closed the door behind him, corbyn removed his shoes, placing them neatly against the wall before following jonah into his house. "jonah!  you didn't tell us corbyn was coming today!" jack yelled as he saw corbyn's slim figure turn the corner.

the shorter boy engulfed corbyn into a hug, zach following suite. after the abundance of greetings and affection from the others, the boys began taking their seats; jack and zach sitting on the couch, jonah in a small chair, and corbyn on the ground in front of the couch.

"is it only you three living here, jo?" corbyn wondered, locking eyes with the elder. "soon it will only be tate and i, but otherwise, yes." jonah smiled sweetly, taking a sip of the cup of coffee in his hand.

corbyn had totally forgotten about tate, jonah's girlfriend, as he doesn't bring her up as much. maybe it was because jonah would much rather talk about corbyn and his own feelings, always making sure he was doing alright.

"where are you guys moving to? not too far i'd hope, i'm sure you'd miss me too much." corbyn stifled a laugh as he joked, a light punch being received by jack. "oh please, i don't need you for everything, besson." jack stick his tongue out, corbyn returning the gesture.

"how are you and daniel doing? i haven't heard from him in a bit." jonah furrowed his eyebrows, taking a seat on the couch behind corbyn, allowing his fingers to brush through the tufts of blond hair.

corbyn's mood vividly changed, his smile slowly forming a straight line, no emotion present. he leaned his head back, eyes closed as he sighed. "i'm not sure at this point. i'm sure he still loves me, right?" corbyn's voice grew softer as he spoke.

"of course he does, bub. what makes you think otherwise?" jonah's eyes flickered with concern as he glanced towards the couple seated across from his. corbyn's breath hitched as he placed his forearm atop his eyes, shrugging in response.

"corbs, tell us what's wrong. we can help you." jack stated, taking one of corbyn's hand in his, softly moving his thumb overtop his knuckles. this had been a normal thing for the friends, knowing they were practically brothers.

"he's out a lot, comes home late, hesitates a bit when i tell him i love him. it's obvious we're drifting apart, but- what if i'm overreacting or something?" corbyn let out a shaky breath as he gently tugged at jack's hand once he tried to remove it.

"you're not overreacting, corbs. maybe he's stressed, overworked, it could be anything." zach reasoned. truth be told, he knew how daniel felt about the situation, hearing about it on a late night with daniel on the phone.

"what should i do? i've been getting him flowers everyday, telling him i love him, tried to make dinner- almost burned the apartment building down." corbyn stifled a laugh as he sat up a bit, wiping the skin under his eyes.

"why don't you take him on a date, talk it out." jonah mentioned, watching corbyn's face light up for a split second. "what if he doesn't like it-"

"corbyn, he'll be very happy to see you've gone out of your way for him. if he's not, you're too good for him. oh, and he'll get a personal ass beating." jonah smiled, removing his hand from corbyn's hair as he chuckled. "you're right, maybe i should. thank you, jo." corbyn smiled.

"call me when you need me, bud." jonah stood to his feet, engulfing corbyn into another hug. "thanks, jo. love you. oh my goodness, i should go prepare. i'll facetime you all tomorrow after the date and tell you about it!" corbyn rushed to give the others a hug, nearly running to the front door.

"bye guys!" he yelled, lightly closing the door as jonah shook his head with laughter. he sighed before speaking, "that boy is too sweet for his own good."
