"Wait, so you want me to win Miss North Pine?" I ask, not sure if this boys gone crazy.

"Well yes, and you can decide how we get back at Mike." He says. I can't believe he wants me of all people to try and win first place in the annual 'Miss North Pine' beauty pageant.

"While I and Tina were together, she used to talk all the time about how she's always dreamed of being Ms North Pine and since she turned 18 this year she's finally old enough to enter." He explains.

"I'm never going to have even a slight chance of winning that."

"Yes you do, you're a girl." Guys are so delusional when it comes to anything evenly slightly feminine related, am I right or am I right? "And if you win it will make her even angrier."

"I don't know Troy, I'm not sure I want to get the meanest girl at school even more angry with me than she already is."

"At least think about, this will be our best chance at getting back at them, they deserve a lot worse than losing something stupid like a beauty pageant."

"Don't let one of the peppy girls from school hear you." I giggle and get a smile from him in return; silence fills the room for a few seconds and I realise that he's waiting for me to speak, but I'm not really sure what to say so I just stay quiet and wait for him to continue the conversation.

"So what will you make me do to get back at Mike?" I hadn't actually thought about that, I was too caught up in the whole beauty pageant thing but I know the perfect way to make Mike pay.

"If, I do it, you could win first place in the male section in the schools science contest." I make sure to put emphasis on the 'if' part.

"Uh, isn't there anything else?"

"No there isn't, and that is exactly how I feel about entering a pageant."

"Fine, I'll do it." He suddenly exclaims.

"Are you serious?"

"So do we have a deal?" He smirks.

"I'll think about it." I reply while grabbing my bag off the couch and placing it over my shoulder. Just as I'm about to walk out of the large door I hear Troy murmur something behind me.

"What?"

"You might not want to forget this?" He states while looking down at a silver phone, let me rephrase that, my silver phone.

"Really your background is of you and some random with moustaches drawn on your face?"

"Hey, don't look at that, and for your information 'that random' has a name!" I basically scream while lunging at him to retrieve my phone. I tug on his arm but it seems as if his years of sport have definitely built up some muscle, hence making it nearly impossible to get my phone back.

"You tackle like a girl." He sniggers.

"Well you would know." I yell back.

"Maybe, but at least I'm a hot girl and not an ugly one like you."

Okay that might off hurt just a bit.

I give him the biggest death glare I can pull off and swiftly place my hand in front of him, he slowly puts the phone down into my hand with a sick smile planted on his face.

"Have a nice day nerd."

"Whatever Mr Jerk."

I stomp outside and walk over to my car thinking about how at least now I know what my decision will be. There is no way I'm putting up with that jerk even if it is to get revenge on Tina and Mike.

=======

I reach out for my phone and am shocked to see that it is nearly 7pm; it definitely doesn't feel like I've been studying for 6 hours straight. An image of food crosses my mind and I try to keep working but I know that it's no use until I get some food to devour.

After driving for about 5 minutes I finally see a Starbucks up ahead and even know I'm not sure they have savoury food the thought off a chocolate chip frappe leaves me parked in the giant parking lot and approaching the double doors. I make my way to the long queue and when I am about 3 spots from the cashier I spot Mike and a bunch of his geeky friends crowding a small wooden table. I instantly wish that I could become invisible whilst eagerly hoping that none of the losers around the table spot me, especially Mike, we haven't spoken since the day in the sports storage room and I don't think that should change now.

"Hello and welcome to Starbucks, what can I do for you today?" A short brunette asks.

"Ill have a chocolate chip frappe and a New York cheesecake." It's not what many would call dinner but it will definitely do for tonight. After waiting a couple of minutes I am given my order and as I quietly make my way to an empty table my current worst nightmare becomes a reality.

"Hey Audrey," I cautiously turn to face a tall boy with messy brown hair that I'm pretty sure goes by the name of Jim.

"Yeah?" I ask, careful not to make eye contact with any of the nerdy guys sitting around the table except Jim.

"What is the scientific name of the Australian, striped, burrowing frog?"

"Umm I think its Cyclorana Alboguttata." I state while trying my best to plaster on a fake smile.

"See I told you!" He yells at some other boy. I turn around and decide that my cafe food just turned into takeaway. I trudge outside and to my vehicle; before I hop in I can't help but look at the table of boys through the massive glass windows. Glaring straight back at me is the face off Mike holding some type of emotion that I can't quite make out. I get inside the vehicle and close my eyes for a few seconds, making sure I'm still in an okay driving state. Just as I'm about to drive off to my much beloved home sweet home I have to push down my brakes to make sure I don't run over the familiar figure standing in front of my bonnet.
