Violet cleared her throat in order to read the letter. As she was about to read it, a raven screeched from above and snatched the letter from Violet's hands. Violet was about to throw her dagger but thought better of it and tried to chase the raven around the room. The raven rounded the room twice and aimed for the four friends, still clutching the letter in its beak. The quartret ducked as it flew past thier heads and zipped into another room in the manor.
Voilet growled. 'It's mocking me!' she thought. She sighed to herself. ' We better move to another room if we want to get that she letter back.' she said to herself planning their next move.
"Stupid raven... Just as I thought things were going smoothly..." grumbled Raph. "Now what?" he asked staring at his friends.
"Now," said Violet taking the book that contained the Ravenhearst family tree. "We go after the raven and take back what we found first." she added as she put the book in her backpack.
"How did the raven get in here anyways?" quiried Leo.
Kasumi folded her right sleeve up and raised her hand. "There's a broken window somewhere." she said as she unfolded her sleeve.
"How do you know?" asked Raph with pinch of nervousness in his voice.
Leo's eyes widened. "Wait a second..." he said as he narrowed his eyes on Raph. "I know that voice." he took a step closer to Raph. "What are you hiding?" he demanded.
"Who me? What could I possibly hide from you guys." said Raph as a bead of sweat formed on his forehead.
The two girls glanced at each other. Voilet signaled Kasumi to take a step back from the two boys.
Leo thought to himself for a moment then gasped. "Didn't you tell me last week that you lost your favorite basketball?" he asked. "The one you had since you were a kid?" he added. Raph nodded and took a step backward. Leo face palmed. "Please don't tell me that the actual reason on why you convinced us to come here in the first place was to retrieve your basketball ball that you have had for ten years." said Leo almost running out of breath.
The three looked at Raph waiting for an answer. "Uh... okay, I won't tell you that was the real reason I asked you to come here in the first place." he said trying to find a good excuse.
"RAPH!!!" three shouted in chorus.
"What?!?" he shouted back. "It was a special gift." said Raph.
"A special gift from who exactly?" asked Violet.
Raph's expression darkened as he stared at the floor. "That's none of your business." he said darkly.
There was a moment of silence between the group that felt like an eternity. Violet broke the silence when she said "Let's keep moving. I think the raven flew to the kitchen." she quickly turned around and started walking as the others followed her. None of them spoke a single word and for some reason, Leo felt guilty for causing the silence.
