A Secret Phrase

A good ten minutes passed by but, to the gang, it felt like an hour.

"We've been walking for hours!!!" complained Raph.

"Your exaggerating!" retorted Violet.

'Its only been like, ten minutes.' thought Kasumi as she checked her phone.

"How hard is it to find a basement?!?" complained Leo.

"It's not that hard..." mumbled Violet not knowing what else to say. She was also as frustrated and confused as the others were but she was very good at hiding her emotions. 'Who am I kidding? Nothing makes sense in this blasted manor.' she said to herself.

"Uhh... guys?" said Kasumi. The others turned to face her. "Isn't this the place where we ate our snacks?" she said pointing at the stairs.

"What the?!?" said Raph. "We've been walking in circles this whole time?!?" he added. He started pacing back and forth while silently reciting a steady stream if curses. Leo was about to talk when Violet signaled him to shut up for a moment. Raph eventually calmed down on his own and posted himself against a wall. Violet then allowed Leo to talk.

"Let's try going the other direction this time." said Leo.

The others agreed silently and walked in a direction opposite from where they started a few minutes ago but this time Leo was in the lead. They walked for another ten minutes and again found themselves in the same place they started.

"Okay... Anyone else wants to take the lead?" asked Leo.

"How 'bout I take a shot at it?" said Kasumi stepping in front of Leo.

They started walking again but this time, in a random direction. It took them fifteen minutes minutes until they reached the starting point again.

"That's it! We're doing it my way this time !" shouted Raph. He took the lead and started opening doors one after the other. 'We won't end up in the same place for sure.' Raph smirked at the thought.

'This goes against everything I know about solving mysteries but I guess I don't really have a choice now do I?' Violet shrugged as she and the others started opening doors in hopes of finding a way out of the maze-like manor. After opening almost all of the doors, they found themselves back at the library.

"What the-? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?" Raph screamed in frustration.

"Great, not only did we not find the basement, now we're back at start!" said Violet.

Raph recited another steady stream of curses but longer this time.

'I don't get it... No matter what direction we take, we always end up in the same place we started... or worse... Maybe there's a reason why...' thought Violet. She glanced at Kasumi who nodded in response.

"You guys know what people do in detective movies when they see a bookshelf right?" Violet asked out loud.

"Ugh... Do we have to pull out every single book?" complained Raph.

"Just until we find a secret entrance." said Kasumi.

"Well we better get started then." concluded Leo.

They searched and pulled out every single book in the titanic bookshelf in hopes of finding a secret passage.

"We've tried almost every book in this stupid shelf." said Raph.

'Well what else could be reason we're here? We already found the "History of the Ravenhearst Family"... Maybe we should keep looking for a secret entrance...' thought Violet. "Let's try looking for any clues we might have missed earlier." said Violet.

They all did so and started searching for clues or triggers.

"Any luck?" asked Violet.

"Nope..." said Raph.

"Nothing here..." said Leo.

"Negative..." said Kasumi.

'Well, what else haven't we tried?' Violet asked herself.

They all silently waited for someone to suggest their next move.

Violet snapped her fingers. "Aishitemasu... Ayame..." Violet said softly but firmly. They waited a few seconds but nothing happened. 'Hmmm... Maybe this time...' thought Violet. "Watashi no ai..." said Violet.

They waited but still, nothing happened. Violet mumbled a few Japanese words and was about to lose her patience. Kasumi placed a hand on Violet's shoulder and smiled softly.

'Oh, I get it. She's using secret phrases to open a secret passage...' thought Leo. "Roman Herast Revan!" he said hopefully.

The others stared at him awkwardly. The bookshelf suddenly started to move and revealed a entrance.

"Jumbled words, why didn't I think of that." said Violet staring at the newly discovered entrance.

"Finally! A way out!" said Raph running towards the entrance.

"Careful, you might set up a trap." joked Violet.

"Ha ha, very funny." retorted Raph. Although he slowed down and started taking careful baby steps. Leo chuckled and patted his best friend's back.

I am once again sorry for the extremely late update and to make it up to you guys I've added two bonus chapters. (YAY!!!) Also, I've noticed that the story is getting pretty boring so if you guys have any awesome ideas write down in the comments or private message me :). Well I'm done so Au Revior, Se onr sverdar sitja hvass, stay safe and keep reading :)
