Smiles seem alien to her now. Smiling feels a luxury to her. The only source and witness of her smile is Sahil. He is the only person who could make her smile and wants to see her smile. Now, when she stood among Janvi, pinky and other ladies from Priyanka's in laws', she had to plaster a fake smile on her face.

It was Priyanka and samar's engagement and the whole media was present there and Anika's breathes were uneven seeing them. She just wanted to stay away from this limelight. She couldn't be seen by anyone. She felt at loss of words when Samar's family asked her about not being told about her and Shivaay's marriage earlier. She didn't know what to say. None was there from Oberoi family who could handle the situation.

"I.. actually.." Anika fumbled while talking but she felt relieved when she heard Shivaay's voice from behind. She flinched as he stood beside her, restihg his one hand on her waist protectively. She looked at him and tried to keep distance between them. Shivaay gave her a stare and she knew it was a signal for her to stop doing so.

"Actually aunty ji, it's because of my rivals in business world. They can stoop to any level to harm me. And I don't want anyone to use my wife as a pawn. I can't take any risk regarding her safety." Shivaay said as he looked at her slightly blushing face. She wasn't looking at him so she couldn't see the small smile that appeared on his face seeing her blush.

"Aww ! How romantic and possessive Shivaay. May God bless you both and keep you both together, always." Samar's mother said and all the ladies left from their as it was the time for ring ceremony. Anika looked at him, hurt clearly visible in her eyes.

A sudden pain had stung their hearts when they heard the word 'together'. Anika was hurt because this could never happen. He was accusing her, unknown to his own conscious mind. Only if she had never given pain to his family, they would have been together genuinely.

He let go of her half heartedly but kept his eyes on her and a particular person whose eyes didn't leave her for a second. He couldn't tolerate anyone else's eyes following her. Had this stupid guy not been a relative of his sister's in laws, he would have asked Khanna to throw him out.

Anika stopped in her tracks as the same guy stopped her and offered her a pink rose matching with her pink saree. Anika tried to make excuses but his sweet, harmless flirty remarks made her smile a little. Unknown to her someone was dieing seeing all this. She broke someone's heart by accepting the rose.

Her smile gave him relief, but the fact that she smiled because of someone else burnt him. To top that off, she accepted his rose which made him lose his patience and march towards her.

"What are you doing here, Ani ?" Let's go. Everyone's waiting for you. The ring ceremony is about to start. Come." Shivaay pulled her  closer and left from their giving a deadly glare to the guy.

"Why were you smiling ?" Shivaay spoke, making Anika look at him like he was not a normal human being.

"Why are you looking at me like that ? And...and stop taking these roses from any random guy. Useless fellow he was. And he looked like a.. like chimpanzee.. don't you think so ?" Shivaay kept speaking and tried to sound as funny as he could. He secretly wished to see her smiling for once, with him, at him even.
