That afternoon..

Serena POV:

"What a wonderful party, everyone! Thank you all for coming, it means a lot to me. To be able to celebrate my 16th birthday with my family, best friends and neighbors." I exclaimed with a bright smile. I glance over to see Nate Archibald looking my way with his cute smile and dimples. I easily became distracted. I hadn't noticed him waving in my direction. I finally snapped out of it and walked over. "Nate! It's so good to see you! How have you been?" I said cheerfully. Nate laughed "Oh, Serena i've been ok." He looked a little nervous, was he shaking? I thought. "Are you sure, Nate? You don't look to good." He looked up to me and smiled. "Yeah, yeah. I'm good. I just have been meaning to tell you somethi-" *Ding Ding* Everyone looked over. "May I have your attention, please?" Mrs. Vanderwoodsen called out. Nate sighed. I looked up and smiled, although curious of what he had to say.  Mrs. Vanderwoodsen continued.. "I just wanted to let you all know where beverages and food is going to be available."

Nate POV:

I exited the elevator to the Vanderwoodsens home and into the room looking over at Serena. She hadn't noticed my arrival yet, she seems to be distracted in her own world of love and support for her 16th birthday party. I looked around the room to see who was there, and who wasn't. Not to be surprised, but of course Chuck wasn't there, (yet). I turn around to look at Serena, she looked up and didn't budge. I waved. Was she mad? Ignoring me? Why isn't she waving back. Does she not see me? I wondered. A few moments later she had finally noticed me waving, she came over. I smiled, replied to her questions. I could eel myself shaking, was I shaking a lot? How red am I? Deep breathes, Nate. I thought to myself. *Ding Ding* Saved by the bell, although I was about to finally do it. I wanted to tell her but.. am I ready for this?

Serena POV:

After the party I see Nate is still here. Oh thank goodness, I thought to myself. I wanted to talk to him about something, I think... I think I may still be in love with him. Ever since the day we kissed, or well..you know, my heart has always skipped two beats when I'm with him. I walk over. "Hey, Nate! Sorry about earlier, I wish my mom didn't decide to announce where beverages were when she did haha" I said nervously and slightly awkwardly. He laughed "Oh its ok. I just wanted to say that um." I looked at him blankly not knowing what or when he was going to say it. "I love you." I said somewhat quickly. "Oh shit, did I say that out loud?" I asked out loud again not knowing it. He looked up and stepped closer, his arms slid around my waist. He put his mouth close to my ear and whispered "I love you too, Serena. Always have, always will."

The next morning

Spotted. Serena Vanderwoodsen leaving her home early in the am with a mysterious figure, who might it be this year? Lonely boy? Nate? Or just some random one-nighter she picked up off the street.

Things will get busier on my end so I may take longer for certain chapters. But so far I will be writing weekly, I'd appreciate any reviews/tips/etc; It all is greatly appreciated.

( I do not own Gossip Girl or the characters that are in this story. It is a fanfic ! )
