Nico

My vision finally cleared, as I felt myself falling onto a black obsidian floor. It was dark, and the two skeletons in full body armor, holding M16s, flanking the door, probably did nothing to improve the mood. My father, Hades, loomed over me. In the background, was an auburn haired woman, pretty but unnoticeable. The type of woman you would glance at on the street but just forget. "Nico, I'm sorry to pull you away from Camp, but I'm afraid that something has arisen," Hades told me, in the tone that suggested Gaia had risen again, "This is Hecate, Goddess of Magic," gesturing to the woman behind him. I bowed, as the goddess began her speech.

"A thousand years ago, I sired four children in Britain. These four demigods became the founders of the 'wizarding world.' Their names were Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Helga Hufflepuff. They created the world's first school of magic, for my followers to learn," Hecate explained, "and just in case you misheard, I mean people I have blessed with magic, other than my children. Anyway, this school is named Hogwarts."

'Why would anybody name a school after a skin condition on a pig?' I wondered.

"I can feel a great disturbance scheduled soon in my world. I cannot learn what this is though, as Zeus has banished our Phoebus Apollo. All I know is that the events will revolve around three wizards. Harry James Potter, Ronald Bilius Weasley, and Hermione Jean Granger. We have no prophecy, so I need a demigod I can trust to keep an eye on things." Hecate continued, "I have chosen you for several reasons. One, you are the last of Merlin's bloodline. Two, you are fourteen years old, the same age as these three wizards. Three, you are powerful. You will be able to master the spells."

"Thank you, Lady Hecate. I suppose I don't really have a choiiiii........ Whoa, whoa, whoa, did you say Merlin?" I backpedaled, "The Merlin, as in the sorcerer of King Arthur?"

"Yes, him," Hecate replied, as if this was no big deal, "And, if you were worried, I created this." From thin air, she pulled a Stygian Iron pendant. Inside were three golden orbs, embedded in the lid. "Each of these orbs represents one year of magical learning. Wear this pendant, and you will know anything learned in the third year or lower. Just remember, you're from Ilvermorny, and you want to go The Burrow, Ottery St Catchpole, Devonshire. Now, goodbye. You have work to do. Goodbye." Then she clicked her fingers, and I found myself racing through the earth at 100 miles an hour, until I found an elephant in bulletproof armour bearing down on me.
