Nicos POV
"Luke Castellan?" Annabeth repeated, as if for confirmation. "The... The... You're the boy who was accused of murder!"
Percy flinched and nodded. "Mm... Sent to asylum. Asylum... Seven."
"You were sent to an Asylum called seven?" Piper questioned, her brows furrowing slightly.
"Since he was seven," I corrected weakly. "His step father killed two kids and Percy was accused of both of the murders. Someone... Someone who runs the asylum or someone in charge of Percy didn't want people to know. They replaced him with a stunt double or... Or something." I paced back and forth and kept glancing at Percy.
"Christy."
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" I asked, turning to Percy.
"Christy," he repeated with a shudder. "Christy... Bad."
I shook my head. "You must have her confused. Christy is the lobbyist. I've known her forever, she's the nicest women alive," I explained.
"Lobbyist... Owner. Christy bad." Percy's eyes widened slightly. "No no no. Christy is not good. Christy abuse. Christy has-has things. Another person who looks like us. Christy. Secret operations for special children. Wants us dead. Wants insane children dead. Crazy children dead. Kills. Kills. Kills. Cleanse. Cleansing the children. She wants them cleansed so they can go to heaven. Cleanse. Kill. Cleanse. Christy. Kill. Bad children, crazy children cleansed. Bad children. Heaven. Wants us happy. Wants us to go to heaven. Be happy children up there. Normal children. Kill. Cleanse. C-Crazy children cleansed. Crazy children killed. Good children..."
"Percy, Percy, calm down!" I exclaimed, taking ahold of his trembling shoulders. He looked at me with wide, crazy, confused eyes. His face was pale, his lips forming the silent words 'cleanse' and 'kill' over and over. "Percy, shh, it's alright," I soothed. His breathing quickened and he began to wail and sob like a banshee, collapsing to the ground at my feet
"My poor, poor mother! We have to find my mother! My mother is here somewhere, I need my mother!" His entire body trembled, his eyes flitting across everyone like they were all approaching him with knifes. "My mother is alive! I know she is! She isn't dead! Alive, alive, alive! I need my mother! Do you know where my mother is?" he wailed desperately, clinging to my jeans and looking up at me with wide eyes. "Do you know where she is? She's chained up! Up in the basement! We need to get my mother! My mother is alive! Alive, alive, alive! Almost dead, my mother is almost dead. We need to get to her quick! I-" he swayed dangerously on his knees, mumbling "need my mother..." before toppling over sideways, unmoving.
Everyone was dead silent. "Well fucking hell," Thalia eventually muttered. "That- That was something out of a horror movie."
"A horror movie couldn't produce something that terrifying..." I mumbled, kneeling down next to Percy. "Three different personalities. First was his level after neutral; not much communication. Second was frantic, desperate, a lot of words said really quickly, like he was trying to get everything out. Last was terrified. He always screams about his mother when terrified, or scared." I checked his vital systems and found them normal. "We need to talk to Christy, and my mom."
"I'm not sure that's the best idea. He must have just been rambling. Never trust a mad man Nico, that's a good way to get yourself in serious trouble, or killed," Thalia warned. "He was probably rambling about a dream he had or... Or something."
"No." I shook my head. "I'm going, whether you guys are or not. Imagine if he was telling the truth. Do you know how many kids and teens could be killed for having mental disorders?"
"Do you realize how crazy this sounds!?" Thalia exclaimed, jumping to her feet. "You're going off of one of the several personalities of a person who's been in an asylum since he was seven! You might as well go looking for his mother too! You're not going to get anywhere Nico. You're a psychopath for even thinking of believing this is true!"
I scowled at Thalia. "I don't care what you think. I'm going to do some research, talk with my mother, and see what I can come up with. Maybe bring up a suggestive topic with Christy."
"You're not going," Thalia growled, grabbing my wrist and squeezing it firmly. I stared at her in shock, then anger.
"You're not my decision maker," I growled, twisting free.
"I am when you're making an idiotic choice!" Thalia grabbed my wrist again.
"I'm making the right choice." I wrenched free.
"No, you're not! As I said, you're goi-" As she grabbed both my wrists, I head butted her and bolted out the door. I started the truck in an instant and slammed it into reverse, pressing the pedal to the floor. In no time, I was speeding down the highway thirty miles over the speed limit.
What was going to happen to Percy while he was gone? Hopefully he just... Stayed unconscious while I was gone. Then a little bit after I come back, he'd wake up. Knowing my luck, I doubt that I could pull that off, but I could hope.
I sped my cars who honked and waved fists of rage but I ignored them. New York officers didn't care about speeding anymore. They want the fights. They're itching to do something cool and good that will get their rep up. It wasn't long before I was on the asylum road, where I had to slow due to the overall poor condition. Muttering curses under my breath as I was jostled around, I eventually made it to the asylum.
I would have to talk with Christy. I don't know why, but I had a feeling their was truth behind Percy's words. It was a weird feeling. If Christy was involved with something that may not even be real, how would my mom not have realized if it were? She's the top agent in her department. Then again, Christy knew about my mom and could have easily avoided telling her information that would sell her out.
I didn't know what was going on. All I knew is that once I got to the asylum, showed my passcode and got inside, Christy wasn't there. Instead, it was a tall, slender, black haired women with plastic glasses and a stern look. She was looking at some papers, but once I had stepped a few steps in she had looked at me with chilling black eyes. They somehow reminded me of those of a mantis.
"Nico di Angelo. I figured you'd arrive soon."
