"Maybe we can last."

Chan got out the car once again and kissed his mother goodbye, going about his daily routine.
He walked into the school and found Felix and Changbin.
No Jeongin.
Chan walked up to the two and said his greetings, then turned to Felix, "Where's Jeongin?"
Felix looked down at his phone with a sigh, "I've tried texting him, but he won't answer. He might be sick. I saw him in the rain yesterday but when I tried to talk to him, he ran."
Chan ruffled his own hair, a habit when he's confused, "He was about to get ganged up on yesterday after school, but I showed up. When I asked if he was okay he wouldn't let me touch him. He gave me a smile and said he was fine, then walked off. I don't see how that kid keeps a smile all the time."
Felix hummed in response, "He has been acting strange lately." Felix shrugged, "Well I have to go, class is starting soon. I'll let you know if I hear anything from Jeongin."
Chan nodded and him and Changbin made their way to class. Jisung came running up to them, "I actually wasn't late, but I couldn't find you. Anyway, you know the girl I was talking to?"
Changbin nodded, "The fifty year old pedo, yeah."
Jisung groaned, "I have proof she's not a fifty year old pedo!"
Chan turned to him, "You have a picture?"
Jisung laughed awkwardly, "No, but she told me she goes to our school! She even told me her homeroom class, which happens to be ours!"
"What if 'she' is just a stalker? A stalker that knows your entire schedule?" Chan said.
Jisung shook his head, "She said she's friends with someone named Hyunjin."
Chan's eyes widened, "Hyunjin? The football player?"
Jisung shrugged, "Hwang Hyunjin."
Chan shook his head, "You're getting played man."
"No I'm not!"
"Do you even know her name?" Changbin said.
Jisung nodded, "Part of it. She told me to call her Min."
Chan laughed, "Min! Half the girls in our class have 'min' in their name!"
Jisung pouted, "You don't have to burst my bubble.. Wait Chan! Don't you have football today? Can you ask Hyunjin about a friend of his who has 'min' in their name?"
Chan shrugged, "Sure. For five dollars."
Jisung sighed, but handed Chan the money. Chan laughed loudly and ran off, the other two chasing after him.
--
"Hey Hyunjin." The said male turned to Chan, "Yes?"
"I wanted to ask about a friend of yours."
Hyunjin hummed, "Shoot."
"Do you happen to have a friend with 'min' in the name? Like, one close enough to mention you to others?"
Hyunjin nodded, "I only have one friend with 'min' in the name. Minho. Lee Minho."
Chan tilted his head, "The guy in my homeroom? Has he said anything about playing a prank on Han Jisung."
Hyunjin laughed, "The cutie that looks like a squirrel? Yeah, Minho talks about him all the time. But no, no pranks."
Chan ruffled his hair as his eyebrows furrowed, "Jisung said he was talking to a girl."
Hyunjin shook his head, "Nah, Minho has been talking to him. It's been about.. four weeks?"
Chan laughed, "Jisung is going to freak when I tell him that."
Hyunjin put his hand on Chan's shoulder, "Tell Jisung to give Minho a chance, you know, to explain everything. Minho never really lied. Jisung assumed Minho was a girl because Minho told Jisung he was cute."
Chan nodded, "I will."
--
Chan changed out of his football uniform and began his walk to the nearby cafe.
He opened the door, the small bell signalling his entry. He walked to the line and ordered his drink.
Chan looked around for a place to sit and noticed a familiar face. Chan walked to the booth and sat in front of the red head, "Hey Jeongin."
Jeongin's eyes were red, but he gave Chan a bright smile, "Hey Channie!"
Chan tilted his head and leaned forward. Jeongin turned away, but Chan gently grabbed his face. He turned the younger towards him and looked into his eyes, "Were you crying?"
Jeongin shook his head, "N-no."
Chan sighed, "Don't lie to me."
Jeongin looked down, "Fine. I was crying. I was watching Finding Dory and it made me sad."
Chan laughed and ruffled Jeongin's hair, "You're too cute. Cheer up Innie~"
Jeongin giggled and took a drink from his shake. Chan took a drink as well and sat it down, "Why weren't you at school today?"
Jeongin froze for a second, but then smiled, "I wasn't feeling good this morning. I'm okay now."
Chan nodded slowly, "We should hang out more."
Jeongin nodded cheerfully, "We should. But I need to go now, my parents expect me home."
Chan nodded and waved the younger off.
