Your Point Of View

We had just gotten off the oddly small boat that took us across Lake Lachrymose and going to take us closer to the mysterious Aunt Josephine.

Mr. Poe was off quickly but not before offering some Peppermints to the four of us, I gladly took mine because the fish smell had somehow invaded my entire body. Mr. Poe was gone and I noticed the Baudelaire's still haven't had their mints.

"Not fans of Peppermint?" I ask half of mine had already melted away

Klaus stuffed them in his pocket " We're allergic"

huh, that might be useful in the long run

Violet adjusts Sunny on her hip and says "Maybe Aunt Josephine can explain the strange things that keep happening to us"

A taxi came to a screeching halt beside us, and the driver poked his head out the window and asked: "Does anyone need a ride somewhere for a reasonable fee?"

We get in the taxi and I look out the window at the small town on this sad grey rock. Violet makes pleasant conversation with the driver of the vehicle and they begin speaking of a hurricane coming up.

Klaus holds my hand and oddly enough, I'm not shocked like I usually would be. So I interlock our fingers and smile to myself

~

Once we land in front of the house we wish the driver a good day and make our way to the porch. Violet tries the doorbell but nothing happens so Klaus almost knocks on the door when it hurls open

"Don't knock, you could get splinters" says a woman in a red cardigan and smooth-looking ebony skin.

"Oh, how rude of me, I'm your aunt Josephine" She looks at all the children and then her eyes land on me "You must be Y/N! Do you have a last name or...."

"It's Snickett, Y/N Snickett miss" I reply with a soft smile

She gives me the same look Uncle Monty gave me when I first met him

"You should be dead," she says quietly

"Surprisingly that's not the first time I've heard that recently"

She snaps out of her trance and proceeds to give us a tour of the house, Violet and Klaus look at me in confusion and I shrug.

This woman seems very...cautious. It's like every item in the house is dangerous to her. Doorbells and phones are sure to get you electrocuted, so she doesn't use either of them. She is also a stickler for grammar and questioned Sunny's baby talk.

Once we get to her small Library, The Baudelaires seem much calmer than before and I feel the same.

"Baudelaires, your parents and I were all great friends" she starts looking out the window "We used to have picnics by the shore, I remember our last one like it was yesterday. That was the day I lost my husband to the Lachreymose Leeches, terrible creatures who can smell the tiniest bit of food. I told Ivan to wait an hour but-" she let a cry and the map she had pulled down came up with a quick Whap!

She calmed herself down and said "Y/N, I knew your parents too"

My eyes widen "M-my Parents?"

She grabs my hand

"Oh child, there is so much I can tell you about your past... But it must wait till later" she says letting go of my hands "There is a storm coming so I must go out and buy us food for at least a week. Stay safe while I'm gone and please don't touch anything!"

Though we'd barely known the woman for an hour she walked right out the front door, closing it ever so gently.

~~~
After the Baudelaires and I had done a bit of snooping around in the library, Josephine came back into the house looking like she was walking on air.
"Children, I have just the most amazing news," she sings while gently putting down the groceries on the kitchen counter.
Violet starts putting things in cupboards, already having the system memorized, and asks "What is it, Aunt Josephine?"
"I have found love my darlings! Much like your brother and Miss Snickett" she says gesturing to me and Klaus while I hold the baby
As much as I try to hide it, a furious blush can't be contained on my face and Klaus excuses himself to use the restroom which Violet laughs at.
Gaining my composure I ask "When will we get to meet this mystery man?"
She smiles when there is a knock at the door "Right now"
She cautiously opens the door and I can't believe the sight in front of me.
Klaus walks back downstairs, straightening his tie and almost trips at the bottom when he sees this man.
All at once we exclaim "COUNT OLAF!"
So...i wrote another chapter... Sorry about that
