Nadine's POV

I stood behind Amelia, who unwrapped the note, and I read it over her shoulder. It was from Con, and as soon as she realised I felt her tense up. She must really like him.

The note basically said that Connor is somewhere in the o2l house and she has to go and find him. At the end, Con signed and put "I love you". Dani and I awwwwed in unison. I placed my hand on Amelia's shoulder and said softly:

"Go on. Don't keep lover boy waiting."

"He doesn't love me." Amelia whispered inaudibly so that only Dan and I heard.

Dan nudged me and mouthed 'we need to talk to her' behind her back. I nodded ever so slightly and as if on cue we took her hand from both sides and pulled her into a random changing room.

"What's wrong?" She asked, furrowing her eyebrows.

"Mel, we haven't known each other for that long, and most of the time we spent together was when we were both drunk..." Dan began and Amelia laughed.

"...but I feel like you're my sister, a little sister that I should look out for. You're one of my closest friends, and I don't have that many. I just want you to know that, and that Connor loves you more than you could possibly fathom, and that's what he's trying to show you. So please, Meli, for all of us. For yourself. For him. Give it a shot."

"If Dan says he hasn't knows you for long then I can't talk at all, because I literally just met you. But I can already tell you this: there shouldn't be a single thought in your mind about you not deserving Connor, him disliking you or anything like that. You're awesome, we've already had all the banter in the car and I would kill for a friend like you. And as for Con, well, I think you're his saviour." I said, wrapping my arms around Meli, who relaxed and sniffled into my shoulder. She smelled of lavender and honey. Dan went in for a group hug, slightly squashing me but I let out a giggle and dug into his chest. Mmmm. Malteasers and unicorns. I didn't know what unicorns smelled like, but if I did, Dan would smell the same.

"Thank you guys. I'm sorry, can we go? I don't like being by the pool." Amelia whispered, pulling away.

Dan and I smiled and led her back to Phil and Dani, who were having a tickling fight by the side of the pool.

"Um...guys?"

Dani tried to catch her breath and looked at Amelia.

"Hey." She breathed out.

"What are you... LOOK OUT!" Amelia screamed as Phil pounces on her best friend, tickling her ribs. Dani gasps and laughing, shoves him into the water. We all burst out laughing as Phil emerges from the water.

"Fuck you guys. I'm gonna go change at mine and Dan's, tell me how it will work out." He says, smirking and climbing out.

"How what will work out?" Amelia questions, looking over to Dan who was just passing the hotel keys to Phil.

"You'll see." I respond.

Boy, is she going to be surprised, I thought as we walked back to the car.
