a shoulder to lean on.

Shivaay was sitting in the waiting room of the City hospital waiting for his grandmother who was going through a routine medical checkup in the next door doctor's cabin.

When he noticed Annika, his business rival walking in and sitting across from him, head in hands, obviously distraught. He had never seen her look so fragile and weak, she was one of the strongest woman he had ever met in his life.

“I lost the baby,” He heard Annika whisper, as she silently cried clutching her empty stomach. Something broke inside him seeing her cry. Not able to bear any more of her tears, Shivaay walked towards her and sat next to her.

He forwarded a box of tissues and wrapped his arms around her shoulder. He sat by her silently, comforting her. He knew she had a very rough year, with her husband divorcing her when he found out she was pregnant and now this.

No words were exchanged between both of them and that was what Annika needed- a friend and a shoulder to lean on, who wouldn't judge her.

This day at the hospital changed their lives for better as six years down the lane, Annika still cherishes this day for giving her a loving husband and their 4-year old son.
