Love needed

chapter 4

I walked closer to mom to get a better look at the baby. I tilted my head trying to wrap my head around me being a big brother. I looked up at mom and dad as they smiled looking down at me then back to the baby. Dad walked around the hospital bed and picked me up so I could get a better view. He then went back around the bed and put me down on the bed. Mom lowered the baby so I could get a better view I looked up at Aksha who was still standing at the door then I looked over to dad who had his hand on my shoulder. He then walked over to Aksha and brought her closer.
"Kids meet your little sister Zephyr," mom said as my face grew a big smile.
Aksha looked at her not knowing what to think. I leaned my head against mom's shoulder as she turned her head and gave me a kiss on the head. Dad put Aksha on the other side of the bed and Aksha leaned over to get a good look at Zephyr. I looked up at dad who was walking over to me and took me outside of the room.
"Nuffink I hope you remember that just because there is a new baby that you will still get the same amount of love as before mom and I will just hove to spend a lot of time taking care of Zephyr ok."
I smiled and nodded to him as we made our way back into the room. Dad put me back on the bed and took Aksha out of the room I assumed he was telling her the same thing he told me.
I stared at the baby as mom put her hand on my shoulder and I looked up at her smiling she brought me closer and gave me another kiss on my head and asked, "do you want to hold her?"
a smile grew on my face as I nodded. Mom took motioned for Grandma to come over and take Zephyr. Mom then took her arm and put it around me Grandma then put Zephyr in my arms and mom helped me support the head. I looked down at her as she slept in my arms she looked so peaceful so calm so fragile. I heard the door open and I saw dad and Aksha walk in but I didn't pay much attention I just put my eyes back on Zephyr. Dad brought a chair over and sat next to me he took Aksha in his lap so she could see too. From that day on I knew that I was gonna be the best big brother I could be I knew that I was gonna try and patch things up with my friends but most importantly I knew I was always gonna be loved.
