I looked over at Calvin and tried my best to process things.
"It's crazy out there, a lot of kids are dead." He said as he scooted towards me. I looked around and then at him, tugging at the chain attached to my neck.
"So how exactly are we going to get out of here?" I asked him. I felt bad for not asking more about the other kids here, I was lucky enough to have Calvin to distract the man off of me for now. But I didn't know how long that would last, or how exactly this scrawny kid was going to help me get out of here. Maybe I'd be replaced? Since he obviously had some experience, and the man knew that.
"Uh, honestly I didn't think I'd get this far."
He said as he wiped off some saliva from his face, looking at the ground and glancing at me for a second.
"I'm sorry."
That's all he could say. I wanted to rant, to say that sorry didn't cut it and now I have to deal with potentially staying in my situation longer.
"I didn't think there would be chains and things..." he said pointing at the collar around my neck, his boney arms almost as thick as the chain itself.
He stood up and walked to the door, pulling without it moving. He turned to look at me, opening his mouth to speak when the door opened, the man standing there holding a couple bags of Fritos from the cafeteria. His expression of excitement melted into a stern anger, tossing the bags onto the ground and grabbing Calvin by the throat and slamming the door shut behind him with his foot.
"Now what in the hell do you think your doing by the door? Only Master is allowed here, or did I fuck you so senseless that you're currently lacking that common sense?" He growled as he walked to the wall where the blue haired girl had lost her life, slamming Calvin against the wall.
There was a muffled crack.
Calvin screamed, the sound being distorted by gasps and gurgles. I watched in horror as he coughed and gasped for air, clawing at the mans arms as he tried to breathe. As he coughed again, blood splattered the mans face, causing him to drop the boy. He landed on the ground and instantly felt his throat. There was an odd lump in the middle of his neck, and tears starting to pour out of his eyes, rolling off his cheeks as he continued to cough up blood.
That's when I realized that lump was perfectly circular before.
The man had crushed his Adam's apple.
