Hope.
That's all I could think about at the moment. Someone must've contacted the police and they were now here to set all of us free from this Highschool-wet dream of a situation. As he continued to pull me along with him, the man looked down at me.
"C'mon doll, you've gotta walk faster for daddy, okay?"
The sentence sent chills down my spine, and I sped up as he had asked. The pain was unbearable, and I held my breasts against myself so they didn't hurt as I did so.
As he made it to the end of the hall he turned towards the stairs. And to think he thought he could get away with this, running to the police like an idiot. I wanted to smile, but my hope was crushed again as scenarios rushed through my head. What if he was going to threaten to kill me if they didn't leave? Was I just his hostage ticket out of here? Is that why I was alive? Or am I a human shield? As I was dragged up the stairs, the body guards following behind us, I stopped moving.
The man looked down at me, his demeanor back to the cold expression of greed and overflowing pride.
"Move, or I will move you, darling."
I stared up at him, shaking and wincing from the pain I had already induced.
"One..." he tugged on my wrist.
I didn't budge.
"Two..." he tugged harder, almost causing me to lose my balance.
"Three." Instantly he picked me up and sling me over his shoulder as he had done before.
I didn't have the energy to fight back, I was too weak.
I heard the door open, and the roaring of the helicopter blades. I held onto his shoulder, trying to find an ounce of comfort. He kept walking once he was one the roof, and I clung onto him more.
I didn't want to be a human shield.
Then I could hear the blades louder than ever, and in a deep voice, I heard yell over the sound of the helicopter.
"Mr. Wright, I'm glad you could make it on time!"
Fuck.
