In total shock and disbelief, I was picked up like I was luggage and handed to the man in the helicopter by who was my presumed 'Master' Mr. Wright.
After I was placed in the helicopter, Master was pulled into it as well. He sat beside me and held me close once again.
"Operation Jim Jones!" Master yelled over the roaring of the helicopter, and all of the guards that had followed us to the roof nodded, all taking their guns and instantly shooting themselves in the head.
The way they did so was as graceful as you would perceive a bunch of dancers in unison on a stage, all twisting their guns to their temple, and pulling the trigger.
The man who had helped us up now closed the door and gave the pilot the okay. We headed up, watching as the school came into view and the surrounding neighborhoods.
Through the cluster of trees you could see multiple flashing red and blue lights, the police cars rushing in in what seemed like the dozens. As well as being accompanied by ambulances and fire trucks.
Master placed a hand on my head, petting my hair slowly. He would lightly comb his fingers through and every now and then twirl the ends on his fingertips.
I wanted to hate it. I wanted to hate this man that had murdered before my eyes and commanded a few dozen men to take their lives from hearing a single phrase spoken to them.
But I liked it.
I started to drift, my head nodding as I tried to keep it up, the sound of the blades drowning out any other noise.
In a twisted sense the moment was almost ethereal.
I sat up straight as the presence of his hand melted away and I felt him place headphones over my ears.
All I heard now was a hum of the blades.
I looked up at him and he had a pair on now too. He smiled in a way that was soft, and started to drift asleep as his hand came back.
Twirling and stroking my hair, my weight shifting against him until my head became too heavy. I laid my head down in his lap, feeling security and fear battle in my brain as I tried to process how I was feeling.
Before I could come to a conclusion, I had drifted off.
