June watches, as Cassandra Thorne and Baby-Killer undergo lie-detector tests, before Anthony steps in.
"How's Arnold doing?" She asks.
*Speedy recovery.* He signs. *He's getting his strength back. *
"Is Guardian back yet?"
*Just touched down at Gatwick*.
"What's the sitch on our GIGN buddies?"
*As expected, Von Abel just re-sanctioned the GIGN'S P.A.L.A.D.I.N. program.*
"Wow. Weren't they quested to kill him last they were active?"
Anthony simply shrugs his shoulders, making an 'I dunno' expression.
"Has Fleet been informed?"
*Way ahead of you. He sent me here to summon you. Wants us to present the lie detector test results to him. *
Moments later, Com. Fleet's office.
Fleet finishes his cigar, as his landline rings.
"Director Fleet, Dr. Anselmann has prepped the forensic analysis lab. " The secretary informed over the line.
"Great. I'm on my way."
Messiah heads down to the lab, where the Doctor presents him with Arnold's business card.
"As you can see Director, Sir the card reads 'One-Time-Use Only. Drench in H2O for" Help.' "Dr. Anselmann began. "So drenching is exactly what we are about to do."
Anselmann directs Messiah to a shallow saucer of water. "I ran a plethora of scans on this card. " he started while handing Fleet a file. "X-Ray, Infra-red, the whole package. What I found is quite remarkable."
The doctor extracts one of the scanned images from the folder and shows it to Fleet. "This card contains not an average microchip, but a nano-chip."
"That's not exactly new. The year is 2030 is it not?" Fleet questioned.
"Indeed, but nanochips have yet to become publicly available. They are still fairly new technology."
"Anything else that's interesting you found about this card?"
"It would seem that this card is designed to send a distress signal beacon upon activation, which is why before drenching it in water I've set up a beta Ray detector to detect the radiation signal given off by the card so we may trace it to the receiver. "
"Excellent. Drench it now then. "
"Of course the coordinates written on it have been taken noted of right, Sir?"
"Yes. "
"Very good, Sir."
Dr. Anselmann proceeds to drench the card in water, as he and Fleet watch the monitor of the beta Ray detector. "There it goes!! The beacon has been launched!!".
"Quick! Show me the receiver!" Fleet instructs.
"Interesting. The receiver is located at the exact same coordinates written here."
Suddenly, the card begins to produce a fizzing sound as it begins to dissolve in the water.
"Amazing!" Anselmann squealed " The card seems to be disintegrating itself! A formidable tactic!"
