The battlefield went quiet, no more moaning or cries of the fallen. All seemed still except for the one soldier looking up at the sky. the sun had fallen not too long ago leaving him basking in the light of the stars and moon from above. His uniform stained crimson from the blood of his opponents and sadly from himself. Although the substance oozed out of his wound was warm that didn't stop the coldness from seeping into him by his fingertips, slowly it encaged him little by little. These were Izuku Midoriya's last moments on this earth and the young man knew it yet he was surprisingly at ease. He had done his job and led his men to the best of his abilities but was it enough? Oddly enough the grass beneath him seemed to be the perfect resting place despite the strong scent of copper and gunpowder that lingered in the air. Izuku didn't have to look around to know what laid out around him yet he prayed that some of his men had gotten out of there alive. With labored breaths, he held out his hand to the starry sky above as if he were reaching for them to take him away to what laid beyond. A tired smile formed on his lips as he sang out in a trembling voice

"I may not live to see our glory..."

"But I will gladly join the fight..."

In these moments the faces of all his friends and loved ones passed before his eyes like the precious memories that they were. The joy he had with them along with the pain brought tears to his eyes. the world around him seemed to be fading, just like the light in his eyes nonetheless his smile as delicate as it was heartbreaking still remained.

Iida, Ochacko, Tsuyu, Todoroki, Toshinori, kirishima, Kaminari....

Kacchan

He'll be waiting for them on the other side

"And when our children hear our story..."

"They'll tell the story of.."

"Tonight"

With that said he felt the weight of his eyelids finally becoming too much to bear. his calloused hand fell to the green blades of grass below as he took his final breath. That was it, Lieutenant coronel Izuku Midoriya had passed away on that August night. He didn't have many regrets but if there were a few things he could have changed he might have done it. The biggest change might have been him actually telling Katsuki Bakugou or how he liked to call him Kacchan how he truly felt. Maybe it was that very feeling that granted him that last wish. Some say you are granted a farewell during your passing, with gods grace or whoever was truly up there he would say his goodbye. For now, he led his fellow fallen soldiers to the other side to finally rest. They have earned it for they have won not only the battle but the war and the nation they left behind will be free as they longed to be in their lifetime.

Some time had passed and word of the death of Izuku Midoriya was spread to all his friends and family. It was devastating to all, especially his closest friends who fought by his side such as Tenya Iida, Kaminari Denki andEijirou Kirishima. Even General Toshinori mourned greatly for the loss of the young man but it might have been the ash blonde who ended up hurting the most.

Katsuki was by his son's side after reading him a bedtime story and was currently watching him sleep when his wife Uraraka ushered him out of the room. The blonde complied albeit, with a look of confusion as he noticed she seemed to be pale, he didn't know why but he had a feeling something was wrong. Even as he stood in front of her she didn't say a word and simply took his hand in hers and walked him to his study. She had read the letter beforehand expecting it to be another one of Izukus silly letters. The brown-haired woman thought it would bring news of victory and promises of the four men drinking in celebration but that wasn't the case. She did her best to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall.
