Chapter 10 - The Beginning of the End Part 1

- Panther POV -

  After returning from the Nightmare Realm, we waited for what seemed like hours for Lumos to return.

  "What's taking him so long?" I asked impatiently. Just as I said that, a small portal opened and out came an orb that land on the floor with a small thud.

  "This is Luminaosis's orb," said Cold Space as he picked it up. The orb started glowing in his hands and started speaking Luminaosis's voice.

  "Brothers, if you get this, I need your help. I've been captured by the Nightmare King and he has our Talismans and the Black Diamond. I've left a trail for you to follow. Do not stray away from it or you'll be lost forever in the darkness," after that the orb stopped glowing.

  "We have to go save him," said Demos.

  "I agree," I said. Cold Space nodded his head in agreement.

  "Then lets head to the Nightmare King's Castle," said Star Fate. We then jumped through the portal back to the Nightmare Realm.

- 1 hour later -

- Star Fate POV -

  After walking along the trail Lumos left behind, we finally made it to the Nightmare King's Castle. The castle looked like it was made from the dark rocks that covered the land giving it a scary look to it.

  "I'm guessing that's where he has Lumos, our Talismans, and the Black Diamond," said Cold Space.

  "Remember, we find the king, we find what he took from," I said. We then headed into the castle. The castle was completely empty, but we continued walking till we came to a pair of big dark wooden doors. I opened the doors and saw that the room had two staircases on each side that connected to a throne that was over a large pit of lava. I kept looking around until I came across a cage hanging from the ceiling. I looked closer at what was inside and saw that it was Luminaosis.

  "Luminaosis," I shouted catching his attention.

  "You came," he said looking down at us.

  "Hold on, I'll get you down," I said summoning my chakram. Before I could throw it a voice came from the throne.

  "So, you came after all," it said. We all turned towards the throne to see a figure wearing dark armor and a helmet that covers his face. Before any of us could speak, we were pushed into the lava pit by one of his blasts, but luckily, we landed in a small ledge.

  "Let's play a little game, the first to get out gets to make a decision, but you cannot use your powers," he said.

  "Who is this guy?" asked Panther.

  "That's the Nightmare King," shouted Lumos.

  "Let the game begin," said the Nightmare King as he looked down at us then sat down on his throne. We started climbing but it was hard because of the sharp rocks that kept cutting our hands. But no matter what we kept climbing and climbing. I was the first to climb out of the pit.

  "Congratulations. You won," said the Nightmare King as he stood up from the throne as the others got out of the pit.

  "Now what's this decision you mentioned," I said.

  "The Talismans and the Black Diamond or your brother," he said making them both appear beside him. I couldn't believe what I heard. 'Save my brother and lose the source of our powers and the source of life in Kissteria. Or save the sources of our powers and life of Kissteria and lose our brother,' I thought. This choice is honestly the hardest for me to make. But after a while of thinking about it, I decided but it will be hard for us to live without the other.

  "Your answer," said the Nightmare King.

  "I choose..... the Talismans and the Black Diamond," I said. The look that Lumos gave me was a look of betrayal that I can never forget along with the hurt in his eyes.

  "Why Star," said Lumos. I could no longer look at him, so I started walking towards the Talismans and the Black Diamond. But before I could reach it chains appeared out of nowhere trapping me and the others.

  "Hey, what's going on?" said Cold Space.

  "You see I told you this would happen," said the Nightmare King as he placed a hand on Lumos's shoulder.

  "What?" said Demos confused and angry.

  "Maybe it's time to shed some light on the subject," said the Nightmare King as he removed his helmet. We were shocked to see that he had the same face as Lumos but darker and evil looking.

  "To explain this is the last bit of good that I had left, but now it's no longer a problem for me. So, I should thank you for destroying it for me," he said as the other Lumos faded away.

  "Why? Why are you doing this?" shouted Panther with anger in his eyes.

  "Maybe its time for me to step out of your shadows and get appreciated for once as soon as I make the night eternal and never again will your sun shine in the sky," said Lumos as he then let out an evil laugh. Then a portal opened beneath us, sucking us in.

  "Goodbye brothers. Have a nice trip," was the last thing I heard him say before the portal closed.
