She walked through the corridors, books clutched tightly against her chest. She tried to hide the nervous trails on her face. Taking one slow step at a time, she tried to bind in with the crowd. She kept her head low with a hoodie on top. The dark circles under her eyes were still visible even after applying the brand concealer. It was not paying off much result, but atleast the dark circles looked a bit natural now.

She didn't know the last time she slept properly. She was afraid that she was suffering from insomnia, but wasn't the person not suppose to feel sleepy in that? On the contrary, she was in the state of sleep all the time, the only thing was she couldn't, because if she did, she was afraid that the clowns will kill her.

The nightmares of the previous school haunted her wherever she went. She changed cities in a hope that maybe those nightmares will go away, but what she didn't know was they were going to follow her unless she decides not to let them haunt her. Transferring from Ottawa to Toronto was not exactly a good idea and she realised it now looking at the heavy crowd.

If the 9 lakhs population could make her change cities then only god knows what 54 lakhs population could make her do.

"You are so stupid, Jennifer. Changing cities was definitely a bad idea." She muttered to herself and stopped right across her locker. Quickly swapping her books, she turned only to bump into someone.

"I am so sorry! I should have seen where I was going, but no, I was busy watching Stitches. But what can I do, my stupid brother didn't let me finish it last night and my nerves were getting all over the place for not knowing the end. Hence, this mini incident— Shit, I am sorry again. Are you okay? Pardon me for the rant." A blonde girl with pink ombre who looked really pretty with her black eyes and the height of 5'7 spoke.

Her face blanked on hearing the news about Stitches. She went pale and her heartbeats grew faster. This was definitely not the time for her to get all afraid, but it was hard. She was angry at herself for not even wanting to hear about clowns when the rest of the people could actually see it!

"It's okay." She muttered, quickly looking down to protect herself from the scrutinizing gaze of the blondie.

"Are you, like, really okay?" She asked, again.

"Can't be any better."

"Can I see your face?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want you to!"

"Oh, come on! Don't be like that."

She remained silent and turned around ready to flee to her next class. She didn't see any point in arguing with her as she was as pestering as a fly. She started walking again when she bumped into yet another person.

She groaned internally and bent to pick up her books. When she stood back, she heard a loud gasp and that's when she realised that she had her guard down. Her hoodie was no longer on her head and the gasp came from none other than the blondie.

"You look like a mess." She said out loud, but the only thing Jennifer could think of at that moment was, everyone had seen her and they all now knew what a mess she was and the only thing for them to know now was her fear and they all will start scaring her at every possible moment like they did in previous school.

"Come with me." The blondie spoke, holding her hand. She took her to the almost vacant part of the school and that was the cue for Jennifer to start hyperventilating. She was getting all the possible bad thoughts, scenes and scenarios in her head, but what she didn't expect her to do was hug her.

"What happened, Sweetie?" Her voice as soft as a melody. Jennifer had trust issues and she definitely couldn't pour her heart out to a random stranger.

"Nothing." She muttered.

"You're afraid that I am going to judge you, isn't it?" She nodded her head as the blondie let out a good laugh.

"You don't have to worry about it, Sweetie. If you think I am going to bully you than you are completely wrong here. You know why?" She shook her head 'no', as she continued, "Because I, myself used to get bullied."

"But, how? You are just so perfect!" She couldn't help herself from asking out her a very stupid and a very personal question.

"They always find something to bully you. If it's not your appearance, then your grades or families or wealth or just anything in general, even your sneeze."

"Sneeze?" She couldn't help, but wonder out loud.

"Yes, sneeze. Once, a girl named Valentina sneezed in the classroom and then everyone started calling her, 'The Loud Sneezer' and trust me when I say this, you don't wanna be call that because after some point it gets really nerve breaking."

She could only think of how Valentina would have live with that. Didn't the words stab her? Didn't it hurt her to the point when she decided to give up? Or was it just her?

"What did she do?"

"Nothing?" She asked, again.

"Nothing, just punched someone straight in the nose and after that no one called her anything besides Valentina."

"But I cannot fight."

"Neither could I, honey. But it's not always about physical fight. Verbal fights do more damages."

"How?"

"I used to get bullied of my pink hair. I tried to not let the comments hurt me, but when they call you stupid names, you just can't ignore it. I was on the verge of depression and trust me when I say this, it's not a good thing. Just when they realise that their words were hurting me, they became wild. Rule number one. Never let them know your fears. Rule number two. Never let them know that their words hurt you, no matter how sharp they are. Rule number three. Never cry in front of them because it only shows that you are weak. Next day, I woke up strong and confident. I slid past their comments like one slid in their crush's Dms and when they realised that their words were not doing any more damage to me, they stopped and then it was my turn to dye my hair even a much more prettier shade of pink and wear it like I own it and now see, how boys are crazy over me."

"So, is it just about you not showing your fear to anyone?"

"Exactly. Because they bully you when they think it hurts you. Just not let them think that it hurts you and we are all good. Also, idiots speak the language of idiocy, so just ignore certain people because at the end of the day, you will be the one eating at McDonald's after a very important meeting and they will be the one serving you."

And that was the first time in a very long time, she laughed a real laugh. It was always about not letting anyone know your fears, but stupid she, didn't know it until now.
