Fire and Ash

Chapter 3

At lunchtime I find myself in the cafeteria with a lot of popular boys and girls asking me to eat with them.

- Hey New Girl, it's me again, you're going to eat lunch with us, right? - Allison asks.

- Sorry, but I already promised someone I would eat with them - I answer with a cold tone.

- As you want, just don't forget to follow me on Instagram, girl - she says and gives me a fake smile.

I walk around the cafeteria searching for Ruby, I really want to eat lunch with her.

As I'm searching I bump into someone, as I look up I see a pair of green eyes looking at me with a worried look.

- Are you okay? - I hear.

His voice is husky and deep.

Wait, I know him, isn't he one member of the trio? 

- Hunter - I say looking at him.

He's handsome, his eyes are as green as emeralds, his hair is brown and his skin has a tan color.

- I'm sorry, do I know you? - he asks - Oh wait, you're the new girl, you're with us in literature right? 

He points at someone and I see Lukas and Asher talking to some other boys.

- I am - I affirm.

- Ash was just talking about you - he says with a smile.

- Do you mean Asher? - I ask already knowing the answer.

- Yeah, that's how we call him, we call Lukas, Luke and they call me Hunt even though I still prefer my original name - he answers earning a chuckle from my dumb self.

- Oh okay, sorry for bumping into you - I excuse myself.

- It's okay, are you searching for someone? - he asks.

- Actually... I am, her name's Ruby, she's not taller than me, has glasses and isn't really popular - I answer.

- She's probably sitting at the small table - he answers pointing to the back of the cafeteria.

- Thanks you! - I shout while walking to the back.

Then as I'm walking and looking for "the small table" Hunter talked about, I catch a glimpse of her long, brown hair in a ponytail.

- Ruby! - I walk to her with a big smile.

As I get closer I see two more girls with her.

- Hey Kira, this is Jess and this is Katie - she says pointing to a girl shorter than us with pink strands of hair and another girl with blonde hair and blue eyes.

- Wow your eyes are beautiful - Jess says.

- Oh, I just noticed, are they grey? - Ruby asks amazed.

- I guess they kinda are but the color change's constantly sometimes it looks like a really bright brown and even blue - I answer blushing - Would you mind if I sit with you?

- Why? - Katie asks - Do you want to humiliate us?

- Katie! - Ruby exclaims.

- Of course you can sit with us, don't mind Katie, she just doesn't trust anybody who looks popular or like the next queen bee - Jess adds.

- It's okay, I don't like queen bees myself so I know where you're coming from - I say while looking at Katie.

I notice that every one of those girls looks amazing, they just don't want to show it...

- Kira! - someone shouts.

- Asher? - I ask.

- Hey, sorry, I just wanted to tell you that tomorrow Lukas is organising a party at his place and maybe you could come by, just if you want, I can even send you the address - Asher says smiling at me playfully.

- Can my friends come as well? - I ask with a smile on my face.

- Sure, there's enough space for everyone - he answers looking at Lukas and Hunter standing right next to him.

- We would love to see you there - Hunter adds with a smile.

- Than it's a deal, we're coming - I said looking at my lunch buddies and then looking Asher in the eye I add - I don't need the address, I'll figure it out.

I see a smirk forming in Asher's face and I smile at him.

Hey people, I don't know if I'm going to be able to upload as much as I'm going to this week, because I usually have a lot of exams and assignments to do but yeh...
