Yoongi

I showed up at work, dreading it more than usual. I had always told myself that I shouldn't be nice to people if they were strangers.

I had always thought that anyone could be a criminal or anyone is bad in this world.

So, I had told myself to not let strangers get to me. But when I went to compliment Jimin's food yesterday, I realized something.

I was literally nice to him without even knowing who he was. I went against myself and somehow ended up sleeping over at his house.

It caught me off guard, but I let it happen.

And I didn't even mind it.

I felt like a complete idiot for keeping that mindset for almost two years. I started thinking that way merely because I didn't want to meet anyone who could be a potential heartbreaker or a bad human.

But Jimin isn't bad. He's pure. Sweet.

And I bet a lot of people are, but I never give chances. The last time I had given a chance to someone who I thought I'd hate....

  Things happened.

  Mistakes happened.

I worked for what seemed like forever, feeling weird that Jimin wasn't there to keep me company like usual. We were both supposed to be cooking together, but he wasn't here so Taehyung had joined me instead.

I asked him where Jimin was; he just stopped for a second and shook his head. "He's just not feeling good He's sick." He said sternly.

I decided not to question it even further, although the look on Tae's face said it all.

I knew that Jimin wasn't sick. I was literally there a day ago. One morning ago. He was completely fine, nothing seemed odd.

Taehyung went back to working and I just looked at him for a minute. He glanced at me, but once he realized I was staring, he turned.

  "Why are you-"

"Because you look different from high school," I cut him off, knowing too well that he was about to ask me why I was staring. It was true. He used to be more bone instead of meat, and he used to have a much childish look to him and his hair was dyed back then.

He hummed and went back to cooking the steak. "Yeah, I know." He shrugged. "Gotta get a grip on my life somehow, though. I figured it was best to start off with change." He said.

I had noticed that he went back to his normal hair color instead of the blonde color he had in high school. I shrugged and went to work again.
I didn't care too much anymore anyway.

——

The next day at work was peaceful.

Jimin had came back and he was a little off, but I wouldn't say he was sick. Maybe distracted, but far away from being sick.
