After we enrolled ourselves, we were given a few papers, then rushed to the lecture hall. The headmaster is suppose to be giving a 'Welcoming speech' for everyone.
Nobody's allowed to go to their dorms and unpack yet. The speech comes first.
Namjoon and I walk into the huge theater, and find a seat out of the few hundred. People are already filling up the room.
In a few seconds, the exit doors close and the room becomes silent. That's when an older man steps out on the stage.
"Hello, my name is Doctor Alexander Holland, the head of this Academy." He says at a slow, tiring pace.
I lean in and whisper in Namjoon's ear. "Is it him!?"
"Who?" He whispers back.
"The first man to talk Earth, of course ."
A smile threatens his face. "Maybe...this could be a huge scientific break through."
I try to hold in my laugh. "Let's observe and find out."
Dr. Holland pushes his glasses up on his nose. "You've all been selected for your incredible performances. That being said, we ask a lot from you. The rules must be followed, and you're willingness to complete our tasks must be high."
Then he goes on and on about how, for years The Gifted Acadamy has made the world more advanced, and other stuff I already know. "Welcome to The Gifted Acadamy!" He finally says.
"Joon! I know where I've seen him before now!".
"Where!?"
"The one in history books," I try to say quickly and quietly. "That is him, right?"
He sighs. "I'm afraid so." Then we silently laugh.
"What dorm were you placed in?" Namjoon asks once we get back to the car. "I can drop you off so you don't have to walk."
Before I can answer, I grab the papers I picked up at the Enrollment Building.
I flip to the last page in a centimenter thick packet. This holds all my information like my schedule, my dorm building and number, my personal information, and the rules. Two mental keys and a key card are in a bag, stapled to the endless papers.
I read off the name. "Charles Hall?"
"I think that one's close...let me look at the map."
Namjoon studies one of the maps he picked up in the lecture hall. "Ah-ha! Found it!" He points to the paper. "Not too far away from my building, either."
"Then let's get to it! I'm tired." This day has wore me out, and it just started.
Namjoon finally found my building, and stopped the car.
"Do you need any help carrying those in?" He asks me.
I get out, "Nope! I got it!" I take my duffle and my suitcase, feeling a little powerful. Women are strong, too. But I know Joon's just being a gentleman.
"Okay, okay...but I can help you if-"
"Joon, I'm going to be alright! Stop worrying, you might start greying early!" I say laughing.
Automatically he runs his fingers through his hair. "At this rate, my hair'll be more grey then Dr. Hollands!"
That made me laugh even harder.
"Why are we so mean to that poor guy?" I ask, wiping a tear off my lower eyelid. My duffle starts to feel heavy, making my shoulder bend towards the ground. "I gotta go, Joon. Text me once you unpack."
"Alrighty, bye!" I wave and turn around. A few steps into it, he yells, "Be safe! Have your phone on you at all times, and don't go with strangers!"
I smile and shout, "Okay, Mom!"
Namjoon doesn't reply. I think I hit a nerve that wasn't even his. I push the thoughts of my own mother out of my head, and signal Joon again.
Holding my hand straight up towards the sky, I don't turn around as I give him one of my favorite moves.
"Hey! Put that finger down, Missy! You're an adult!" And just like that, he drove off, and I entered the dormitory.
It only took me an hour and a half to unpack all of my clothes. To hang them in the good sized closet and fold the rest away in the dresser. I fill extra things into the desk drawers, then put a jar full of pens, black sharpies, and pencils on the top. I'll have to buy some sort of lamp sooner or later.
Although the room is still bare, my white comforter with baby blue flowers made it a bit more colorful.
I sigh and jump on the bed. Now what? Is college suppose to be this boring...? Am I expected to go socialize?
Maybe I could meet Joon. He hasn't texted me though...
"What else is there to do?" I ask myself, standing up and walking out the door. My phone stays tucked in my back pocket while I walk through the school grounds.
But then I remember I have no idea where I'm going...as if reading my mind, my phone buzzes in my jeans.
Joon sent me the directions to his hall, and a picture of the map with it circled. He's so extra it's not even funny.
Okay, it's a little funny.
I've successfully walked to Namjoon's building, and now I'm looking for the room.
It's on the third floor. I keep checking my phone to make sure I'm in the right place while walking.
Then everything happens quickly. I run into someone, my phone dropping out of my hands.
"Sorry!" I say looking up.
Holly shit who is this man?
He's in perfect shape an his facial features are amazing, with brown hair and eyes.
I go to grab my phone, and it seems like he was thinking the same thing. His hand and mine collide together...along with our heads.
"Ow," both of us say at the same time.
He finally says something. "Ah, sorry, that was my fault."
He picks up my phone and hands it to me.
"Uh, thanks." Wow, that's all I say? Not even ask his name or tell him mine?
"Kammmmmmmm!" I hear Joon's voice yelling behind me. "You found us!" Namjoon puts his arm over my shoulder. "Who's this?"
"Someone I ran into," I say before the guy can.
"No, I ran into her." He smiles, "Again, I'm sorry." Then he's gone.
Namjoon's arm drops and he pokes me several times. "Who was that? You're new boyfriend?"
"No! Just someone I ran into on accident."
"On accident...?" He wriggles his eyebrows.
"Yes!" I wack his shoulder. "I was looking at my phone!"
"I'm just messing with you, Kam." Namjoon says laughing. "Anyways, follow me, you'll never guess who my roommate is."
"Who?"
