Science says that silence
Is the absence of sound.
That darkness
Is the absence of light.
And that the cold
Is simply an absence of heat.
Now the word absence means the non existence or lack of.
But there is still a presence in the wake of "nothing."
There is no louder sound than silence.
Its deafening presence drowns out everything else.
Darkness can hide so much inside of it,
It effortlessly fills a room.
The cold can be harsh,
Seeping into a space and drowning out all warmth.
"Nothing" does not exist.
Even the number zero,
The numerical symbol for nothing,
Is still a number.
Nothing does not exist.
