Pulling up in the parking lot of bee and dee's restaurant made me reminisce the good old days in the city. Drey has been a good friend to me all this while. He is the only one who stood by my side after "THE INCIDENT ", he never ever speaks about it, he makes it seem like it never happened.

"Come back to earth Trevor and you better tell me what's going on in that thick head of yours"

"It's nothing Drey, I just remembered how much this feels like the good old days in the city, just me and you against the world "

"Yeah man, after a days hard work we'll pull up at a restaurant and relieve some stress with food" he said laughing.

"Drey let's go in, just the mention of food has gotten my tummy rumbling " I said

Walking into the restaurant just felt like the first time walking into my work place, all eyes were on me, rather I'll say on us. I felt uneasy but I just had to brush it off and find a nice seat.

"Man Trevor, did you notice how all eyes were on you when we stepped into the restaurant, you're a centre of attraction everywhere you go" Drey said laughing loudly.

"Shut up Drey, it was obvious that they were looking at us not just me, and it's probably because we're are new faces in the neighborhood and everyone pretty knows everyone" I tried correcting him

"Trevor you know no one cares about an assistant like me, everyone is dying to get to know the lead detective for all Montgomery gardens cases and not some regular guy like me" he said back

Deep down I knew that what he just said was nothing but the truth but I didn't want to agree with him so I tried finding what to say but luckily for me at that moment the waiter came took our orders and winked at me which managed to drive Drey's point further.

"You see what I'm saying Trevor, you're the real deal"

The door to the restaurant opened and Miss Tiana and her friend Audrey came in. I wasn't suprised to see them, but I was surprised to see them walking towards us.

TIANA'S POV

"Come on Audrey, let's just get a seat of our own"

"No T, the detective's friend is really hot and I'll really like to know him" she said.

Audrey was usually like that, she'll always want to know a hot guy but after like 2 weeks with the guy she'll always get bored.
I confronted her about it one day and she told me it was that douche bag that we both dated then that messed up her life like that.

"Audrey you know you'll still lose interest at the end of the day, so why bother your self"

"Come on T, you can't know until you give it a try, let's just go" she said pulling me towards their table.

Walking towards their table, I noticed that COW was also at the restaurant and she kept on staring at me in a very creepy way. I wasn't alarmed or scared in any way because I was already used to her being creepy.

As we reached the table, Audrey said her greetings and asked if we could join them and they both obliged her.

"Hey I'm Audrey, and you're" she said towards the detective's friend.

"Well, you can call me Drey" he said smiling.

"You're kidding me right, how coincidental is it that we're bearing almost similar names" Audrey said.

"Well maybe it's destiny at work here" he said

As the two were going back and forth, I noticed Mr detective staring at me and it made me feel uncomfortable, I had to call on the waiter to keep my self somewhat busy. I asked Audrey what she would like to eat and ordered food for the both of us.

After the waiter left, Mr detective decided to engage me in small talks but I didn't feel like it but I don't also want to seem rude so I decided to oblige him.

"So Miss Tiana, I guess you decided to take me up on my offer" he said.

"Please call me Tiana, no need for all the formality and what offer are you talking of please" I said

"Okay Tiana, I meant my offer about needing my help"

"I just came here to eat detective, and not to take you up on your offer" I said somewhat rude.

"It's Trevor and not Mr detective please and calm down Tiana I'm not the enemy here" he said.

"I'm sorry Trevor, but after the incident I've not just been my self and I tend to get all emotional fast, let's just eat please"

I noticed that while I was talking I think I said something that made him flinch but I didn't know what exactly I said. Well I guess everyone has his demons to fight.

After we finished eating, we all left the restaurant together and Drey collected Audrey's number and promised to call her soon. I felt that if only he knew how fast she can lose interest he won't even go to any length to make friends with her, but I can't tell him that cause it's not my place to tell him and moreover I can't betray my best friend.

"Hey Miss Tiana, we'll see some other time I guess" he said

"Yeah Mr detective, some other time"

It was obvious he was trying to get on my nerves and well two can play at that game so I decided call him Mr detective.

Audrey and I decided to go to the grocery store to get some food stuffs. We got into the car then I received a call from Chad.

"Hey Chad, hope the city is treating you right?" I asked him.

"Well T, the city is treating me okay but I'm coming home tomorrow though"

I tried so hard to hide my excitement, but Audrey seating down beside me noticed it and had to give me a stern look so I quickly put my emotions in check at once.

"Why you coming back suddenly, didn't you get the job" I asked him nervously.

"I kinda did, I'll fill you up on the details when I get back"

"So how's the little heartbreaker doing" he asked chuckling.

"Shut the fuck up Chad, I can hear everything you're saying, and I'm fine" Audrey said.

"Audrey is still as feisty as ever I can see that, I certainly didn't miss her, I'm going to hang up now, when I get back we'll catch up, love you both" he said cutting the call.

"I'm sure you silent prayers have been answered T" Audrey said.

I smiled at Audrey, not wanting to tell her that, yes my prayers have been answered, i decided to keep it to myself and kept driving till we reached the grocery store.

THE INCIDENT

Going through this case files, I always ended up at a dead end, whenever I think I had made a new discovery, I always seem to go back to the very beginning. The perpetrator is really good at covering up his tracks, I must give him that but I can't give up now, infact I'll never give up till I bring him to book, one way or the other. It's my responsibility to all his victims.
