Friends

Diana's POV

College. It's time to go back. Well not for another month, but yeah. Friends, are what I miss. So we decided to call them over. They also don't know about us. So that's gonna be fun.

Krys and Jaxon. The only two friends we have. Apart from the three of us, they are the closest to us. The five of us were together throughout high school. We're quite inseparable, some would say.

Krys, unfortunately, was out of town. I really wanted to see her. Well, there are always next times.

Jaxon walked in a little while later. He was clad in a white tee and black jeans. His tattoos were peeking through his sleeves. He looked at us through his glasses. He looked fine. So fine... I'm sure Matt would agree.

Back in high school, Matt and Jax were an item. Probably the hottest couple. They broke up before college but they're cool. Tension between them would've been awful for our friend circle. Luckily there was none of that.

Jax looked throughout the room before his eyes landed on Matt. Slightly raising his eyebrow, he said, "Hello, love. How are you? Hi Diana, Damien."

After all the greetings, the four of us sat down. "So, did she say yes?", Jax asked Matt. He's trying something. This is going to be very interesting.

"How did you know? Wait- don't answer that. It was obvious, wasn't it?"
"What about you, Damien? Said yes to you too?", Jax asked, now slightly massaging Matt's shoulders.

"Yes, Jaxon. How's life for you?", Damien said, clearly trying to keep his cool. "Well it was amazing, but then my love, here, broke up with me. You are still so gorgeous, love.", Jax said nonchalantly.

Did he just? No, he didn't! OH MY GOD. He was flirting with Matt. Why? Oh wait- Damien!

"Diana, can I borrow Matt for a second? I'll be quick, I promise.", Jax asked, now holding Matt's hand. "Um- yeah sure, Jax."

He stood up and pulled Matt to the other room by hand. Damien looked infuriated but quickly concealed it. Interesting.

Matt's POV

"Dude! Why did you do that?"
"Listen, love. You know how you have a little crush on Damien? Well fun fact, he has major hots for you.", he said, checking if we were alone.

"That's not true. Damien's straight."
"As spaghetti. Look, all I'm saying is, by the way he looked at you when I was flirting, I could tell he was getting jealous. Just play along. Worst case scenario, he'll be indifferent. Best case scenario, he'll break and confess his feelings. Honestly it's a win-win."

Well, he was correct. One of the reasons I was dating Jax, apart from his hotness, was that he's very smart. He knows what to do, when to do. Also very observant. And this situation was just inviting. So I did what anyone would do. I agreed to play along.

He gave me a peck, a blush crawling onto my cheeks. "Why did you do that?" "Well first, you look beautiful in a blush. Second, damien would definitely be jealous of that blush.", Jax said with the smuggest grin.

We returned to the living room. I think Diana figured it out, because she's been smirking since we've returned. "Are you alright, Matt? You've gone all red.", Damien asked, concerned before his eyes widened. "You're blushing!? Why are you blushing? Jaxon, what did you do?"

Jax smirked and said, "Nothing Damien. We just had a conversation. Nothing too scandalous." Woah, bold move there, Jax. I saw Damien clench his jaw, before Diana called us all for lunch.

Throughout the lunch, Jaxon did little flirtatious things like "accidentally" touching my hand. Damien looked like he was trying his best not to bash Jax's head into the table. Looks like Jax was correct.

Soon it was time for Jax to leave. It was fun talking about all the stupid and adorable things we did as kids. All of us went outside to bid him goodbye. Just before he left, Jaxon pulled me towards him. He gave me a soft peck before whispering, "All the best, lad."

Damien huffed and walked into his room. Well wish me luck. I'm about to go talk to the beast.

"Damien, are you alright?"
"Yes, I'm very well."
"Don't treat me like that."
"Fine. I'm sorry. What were you saying?"
"Are you angry on me?"
"No."
"Then, what happened?"
"Why was Jaxon flirting with you? Are you back together?"
"No, you egg. I have a girlfriend, remember?"
"Ok."
"Damien, why did you ask? Are you jealous?"
"No... Maybe."
"If it makes you any happier then know that Jax and I are just friends."

Right then Diana burst into the room.
"Lads. I'm going to my parents' home for a few days. It's my dad's birthday. I'll be back in a few days."
"Ok." "Alright."

Once all alone, I began, "I'm sorry, if I hurt you." "Please don't apologize. I'm just jealous, I guess."

"Okay. So are we fine now?"
"Yes."
