Author POV :
Neil couldn't control himself and started crying. Avni was in deep slumber at that time. Neil composed himself and started getting ready for going to Police Station, yes he joined back Police Force back. After getting ready, he kissed Avnis forehead and left for police station.
Neil was very busy these days, he went to police station before Avni wakes up and comes back home when she is fast asleep. Because of this, Neil wasn't able to have conversation with Avni but he was satisfied to know that she is fine.
Today, fortunately Neil had less work. He was happy to know that he will finally go home early and can spend some time with Avni. Neil came out of police station around 6pm. He drove towards 'AN' Condo.
Neil opened the door with spare keys as he wanted to surprise Avni but what he saw left him flabbergasted. He saw Avni was talking to Mowgli, their dead child!
Avni : Mowgli aaj hum hide and seek khelenge.. Okay?
Neil went numb. The room was completely dark and his wife was speaking with their dead child. Neil went near Avni, she was sitting with her back facing him. Neil gathered some courage and whispered her name,
Neil : Avni..
Avni turned towards him with shocked expressions. Suddenly, Avni again turned her back towards him and stared calling for Mowgli.
Avni : Mowgli, daro mat baby, papa hai..
Neil bent towards Avni and side hugs her.
Neil : Avni Mowgli mar chuka hai, he is dead! Woh ab kabhi wapis nhi ayega..
Avni : Chup! Bilkul chup! Tum Dara rhe ho use.. Mowgli Roz mere saath time spend karta hai woh zaroor ayega!
Neil was shocked to know that his wife is spending time with their dead child on daily basis. Avni stood up and went near bathroom and started calling Mowgli.
Neil just looked at her with horrified expression. Suddenly he saw something, it was a shadow. He saw Avni was going close to that shadow with her back facing Neil.
Neil went behind her and bend towards table kept near bathroom door. He saw...
