She felt a cold burst of air wash over her as her eyes flickered open to a beaming bright light, she felt a warm familiar touch clenching her hand as she turned to face him.
"Hey sleepy head. How you feeling?" He said slowly and with care in his voice.
"I'm okay." She hesitantly spoke still unsure of why he was here. "Fletch... I-"
"Jac, listen. Right now I'm focusing on getting you better, whatever has happened in the past can stay there for now." He squeezed her hand a little making he smile contently.
"Ugh... crap." She said moving to sit upright with a huge pain overpowering her.
"Hey, don't move. You're stitches will open again!"
"What do you mean again?" She said in despair.
"You don't remember?"
"No"
"Look, all you need to know is you lost a lot of blood and had to have an operation, which myself and Freida performed. So relax, please."
"Okay." She whispered clenching his hand, pulling him into a kiss. Before their lips touched, he pulled away leaving her in shock.
"Jac I can't. I can't. Not now. Not after everything, I'm sorry." He said releasing her hand and pulling away from the bed, walking towards the door before leaving and not turning back.
"Fletch..." She said, eyes full of tears before they flooded her face uncontrollably.

After leaving Jac, fletch was sat on the ward, Sending emails out to members of staff asking if anyone could stay late to help out on Darwin.
Before he finished typing, he heard a familiar voice coming from behind him.
"I can stay..."
"Sasha. How are you?" Fletch stood up, projecting his voice towards Sasha.
"I'm good. The real question is how are you? And how is Jac?"
"I... well the truth is Sash, I'm lost. I don't know what I'm doing anymore. Evie mentioned this morning that I haven't been myself lately and that I've been pushing people away. That's not me Sasha, I'm a people person, I don't push people away. But since Jac... well since Jac and I- I don't know who I am."
"Fletch. Your still you. Being with Jac doesn't change that! Do you love her?"
Fletch took a deep breath before commenting "yeh, I really do."
"Well there's your answer, don't push her away fletch, trust me you'll regret it the rest of your life!" Sasha places a hand on fletch's shoulder giving him a reassuring wink before walking off to help on the ward. Fletch couldn't help but think he was right, had he made a huge mistake?

An hour or two later, after fletch had finished his shift, he prepared himself to go and see Jac. He opened the door to the hospital room, to see her asleep on her bed. He walked over sitting gently on the edge of her bed, brushing her hair back behind her ear and kissing her forehead gently. Her eyes flickered open, to see him, sat with a cheesy grin written across his face.
"Hi..." he said nervously before being interrupted.
"Fletch, what are you doing here? Why?"
"Jac. I made a mistake. I love you, I always have. Ever since that first day we met, when I asked if we had met before and you said 'I would remember.' My big head took that as a compliment, but now I know you and I understand you... and I love you Jac."
She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer.
"I love you too, you idiot!" She said before pressing their lips against one another's, creating minuets of undeniable passion.
They finally pulled apart as he murmured under his breath... "I'll love you, forever!"
"Forever?" She asked questionably with a raised eyebrow and proud look.
"Forever!"
