Walking my way to the two story bookstore I can visibly see the poster of my new released book decorated with small colorful baloons in all the sides of it. I removed my sunglasses and push myself forward as soon as the tall bulky guard in his mid thirties push open the transparent glass double door gesturing me to get in.
The cold air's such a relief, sobrang init sa labas. I continued walking inside heading to a huge crowd waiting for me, each holding a copy of my book. It felt flattering seeing them happy and excited to see me and to have their books be signed. I regret hiding my identity ng matagal and pre-judging them.
There's a small stage in front of the crowd and a reading desk na nakalagay sa gitna, it's a Modern stylish designed lectern. The crowd's attentively watching my every move as I climb two steps up, then tumayo ako sa harapan ng lectern beaming a wide smile to all of them. After a few greetings, thank yous and apology for being late. I decided to read a few pages from my book, it's sort of a teaser for those na undecided pa kung bibili ba sila o hindi.I opened the book to the first page then started reading..
"During a beauty contest, isang contestant ang tinanong ng judge 'If given a chance to be an actress, what would you rather be? A bida or a kontrabida? and if so, why?"
Truth be told, sa larangan ng fictional literatures. There's always a bida and a kontrabida, or formally called as protagonist and antagonist. The antagonist is usually an obstacle that the protagonist must overcome. Usually the protagonists are very admirable and the latter is opposing the protagonist. But in the real world, that's not how things work. The one who appeared to be bad is not always the kontrabida. Because there's always a reason behind, there's always an explanation but it just can't be revealed that easily nor be understood , all we know is that sila ang nanakit kaya sila ang masama at mali.
But in our own points of views we are the one and only, protagonist.
"If given a chance? I would reject the offer. Because acting is not really my thing though I know that lots of people will be more than happy to accept it if they were in my place. But it is always my goal to reach and pursue things that would make me happy and contented in life and acting is not in my wish list to finish."
Ouch! Ang layo na ng narating ng explanation ko hindi naman pala nya gustong mag-artista. Lesson Learned, never assume unless otherwise stated.
It made me chuckle and so was some of the people in front of me, yung iba naman they simply smiled. I can't help it even though ilang ulit ko na syang nabasa. Well, you don't expect me to crack a joke wearing a serious expression right?
I continued reading..There's a story behind every person. There's a reason why they're the way they are. They aren't just like that because they want to. Something in the past created them, and sometimes it's impossible to fix them.
This book is for the people that you hate, for the people that you love or like, to those you don't know and those you can't understand. It's a story where everybody's a protagonist in their own reasonable way. You can never judge someone through their deeds alone.
After finishing the introduction I turn to the next page, the prologue**Author's Note**
Music Video at the right side, it's the theme song of this story.
