[Worst name for a story, worst name for a chapter]
Daniel opened his eyes as he blinked multiple times. Even in the apocalypse, he couldn't help but overslept. The wooden shutters at the window of the ruined house burst open as a wild breeze filled the room. Daniel immediately was awoken to this and sprang to his feet and examined the room for his belongings. He had little food and water and his only weapons was a wrench, which was only good against the human-like troopers and the small "Stingers", the small metal Spider-like robots with multiple red eyes and stinging jaws, giving them their names.
He walked across the room and looked through the open shutters, the usual sight. The world was destroyed, every house was almost completely in ruins, including the one he decided to take shelter for night in. He watched over the small department shops and then noticed someone, a REAL someone! Finally someone to talk to since he left the human survival fort in the town centre, but that was most likely destroyed.
He watched as the other human carried a cart around, attempting to get it somewhere. Daniel immediately got his coat and ran out the bedroom, he ran down the stairs of the house. The stairs were almost floating down by themselves as the enormous house had almost all the walls on the first floor destroyed. Daniel ran out the broken door and on to the dusty street, searching for that new survivor he had saw. He turned a street and then notice a large pile of rubble and debris.
A yellow light suddenly flickered over the rubble as it got closer. Daniel took hiding behind a wall piece and listened to someone, or something for that matter, crunch it's feet over the bricks and "REVOLT!" Posters that were dotted all over the ground. He clenched his wrench (at least it rhymed) as he prepared to ambush the machine. He then immediately turned around and swung his wrench, only to be stopped by a calm hand. "Wait," the machine wasn't what he thought it was, it was the survivor he was looking for "I'm a friend" he said, Daniel was lost for words, but he finally said "Oh, sorry, who are you?" The man looked at him, Dan I was wearing blue jeans and a large black coat and white trainers, he looked very strange. "My name is Ben, and you?" This new Ben asked "Daniel, is there anyone else?" He asked. "Yes, my friends Liam and Matt are back at our small survival camp."
"Survival camp?"
"Yes, follow me, I will show you.
When they arrived, the two found themselves by a shop, a large one, to be. "Liam and Matt are fortified up in there, let me just see if I can talk to him" He got out a phone and then began typing in a number, until a large "Bang" suddenly echoed through the street "Oh Shit, Daniel, get in there" He pointed to and enormous cylinder, Daniel hesitated "Go on, you will be fine, keep your wrench at the ready" Daniel followed his orders and then climbed through the destroyed opening in the cylinder.
Ben suddenly got a colt out of his rucksack and loaded a mag into it. He stood in a secure position, checking any direction, but even then he let his guard down. Suddenly, a large shadowy figure raised out of the darkness, a Hunter. The Hunter was an enormous robot that had 1 eye that was a torch as one eye that was just evil-y red. It had a skull shaped head and a large shell on it's back with enormous spikes towering out of it as well as having four clawed limbs that it used to run and climb with.
The Hunter suddenly began to slash at Ben, Daniel yelled for him to watch out but it was too late, Blood came gushing from his back and Daniel immediately hid himself behind the opening, hoping the Hunter hadn't heard him. Well, he had also made a mistake. Making him jump away to the back of the cylinder in fear, the Hunter attempted to smash it's head into the can and got his head stuck in the broken opening, while enormous sharp claws scratched at the cold metal.
It then moved away and Daniel calmed slightly, up until the moment a metal clawed hand ripped through another opening at the other end of the cylinder alongside another clawed hand that shredded through the ceiling. The claw got closer and closer, making Daniel get even more panicked. It was a few inches away from him, moving it's claws about trying to feel any humans inside. Daniel attempted calm himself but his mind was racing, what wood happen to him? Would he survive? Where is Liam and Matt? It got extremely close and then it felt his chin, then began slashing at his face, missing him by inches and just ripping his coat. Thank God.
Then the Hunter suddenly got shot in it's skull a few times and it turned it's head to Ben. He sat there, and with as much possible strength, he managed to say "Why don't you finish what you started..." he began and took an enormous breath, with all his effort, managed to continue "with me" The Hunter let out a deafening metallic roar. It immediately sped over to Ben and lunged at him, the machine then snatched him in it's metal jaws and he screamed with pain. Meanwhile, Daniel managed to sneak out and hid in the ruins of a house. The Hunter checked the destroyed cylinder, and when he found nothing, he violently threw it away over on to a small cannon.
As his life force drained out of him, Ben left a last groan before being carried off to God knows where. His rucksack fell off and crunched to the floor into a pool of his own blood.
Daniel then picked up the pack and the colt and put it over his shoulder. He turned to the shop and began to walk over it, hoping these "Liam and Matt" where hiding out there.
