The Age Of The Machine

Chapter Three- A New Guest

Palmera, Velonian Capitol, 3:16 PM

The trooper hadn't seen them yet, it's demonic red eyes glowed as it stared around the area. Liam had hid in a small cupboard and Matt and DanieI had ducked behind a shelf. The Machine, after scanning it's surroundings, began to walk forward, it's large metal feet echoing through the room

"Pung pung pung pung"

Every step was deafening as it neared, the closer it got, the higher they began to panic in fear. "We need to kill it" Matt whispered "It's obviously not gonna leave, we need to devise a pla-" Matt was silenced when the trooper had began standing right next to them, fortunately, robots could only see forward, thank God for that. "I used to be a good fighter, with enough effort I can get that bot, you need to use your wrench on it's head until it finally gives in to it and falls off, understand?" Daniel hesitated "Ok" he then muttered.

After a few minutes, the two decided to put their plan (a very crappy plan at that) into motion, when the trooper was checking over the counter, Matt stood up and knocked the gun out of it's heavy hands and then tried to keep him in his grasp. Daniel stood up and gave a few swings with his wrench, hitting the trooper in the head. It took the machine a few seconds to realize what was happening and the right response to take, then it immediately swung both arms back at Matt, the left merely missing his head by an inch, while the right hit him on the nose, almost breaking it. Matt wimpered and put two hands on his nose, as he attempted to regain his strength.

Daniel got a last hit and the right eye-screen (it's eyes) smashed off, leaving a large hole with electric wires and shit coming out. Then it swung it's leg into Daniel's side and he did a small cry, it then ran at him and they both clashed as it smashed him into a stall. It turned to walk back to the counter to collect it's X-90, only to find Liam with it in his hands. "God, laser dot sight and everything, amazing" He marveled at the weapon before firing multiple shots at the trooper, it made a robotic shriek before it's right arm was ripped off by the heavy fire, then it's head followed it's arm's fate. "Alright, this is mine now, Dan, you get the Ithaca" he threw the heavy shotgun by his, somehow, lifeless body. Daniel, finally regaining some strength, poked his head up to find Matt already getting up and the shotgun next to him, and in the distance, robotic chatter and a "Pung Pung Pung Pung" that was getting loaded by the second.

"We need to go now, the Hunter is coming, get you gun and prepare to fight!" Liam yelled. Daniel, after realizing what was going on, picked up his new shotgun and then got up, he then looked at Matt, his nose was bleeding very bad. "Erm...your nose is...Erm.." he was about to say, but was interrupted "Bleeding? Shut up, it's usual" Matt made a crooked smile behind his bloody face. Then, as if right on cue, two more troopers appeared round the entrance. They all began firing, Liam's X-90 managed to blow a hole straight through one of the trooper's chests, while Matt and Daniel destroyed the second. They headed out the shop and then around a corridor, outside into the main area, only to be greeted by more troopers and the Hunter, the same Hunter that murdered Ben. The trio and the lifeless machines both stood there, staring at each other, like wild animals, waiting for one to make the first move. With an instance, both sides sprang into action, Liam, Matt and Daniel clambering down the stairs while firing at the trooper's while the Hunter was chasing after them.

Liam, drawing the most attention, got caught in a crowd of troopers and had to fight his way through, with the help of Matt. Daniel was told to steal an X-90 and use it on the Hunter, but he didn't have enough time, Hunters were like raptors, extremely fast and don't have any sympathy for what they kill. Daniel turned his back and saw it catch up behind him, he shot it once with his gun before getting thrashed and thrown to the side of a pile of crates, the Hunter was approaching and it began to try and snatch him in it's robotic jaws, but Daniel didn't want to die, he was DETERMINED that he didn't want to die. He tried to fight it off by going in to a ball and using his legs to block of it's enormous skull face. After realizing this was no use, the Hunter then went on to more serious standards, it suddenly showed it's enormous claws and prepared to watch intestines spill everywhere, but then, right on cue, a dark mysterious figure appeared at the entrance, a large gun in his hands, with a circle at the end of it and he had multiple cases on his back shaped like circles, very peculiar. Then, out of nowhere, it got the circle and loaded it in to the front part of the gun, it wasn't some random circle, it was a sawblade! He then shot it and Daniel watched in amazement as it flew through the air like a Grimsby, and then smashed into the Hunter's neck, it cut through it like it was nothing and it's head polled over on the ground. Then the Hunter's body collapsed with a crunch on the ground.

When the last of the trooper's were done, the mysterious man walked up to them, a strange, foreign voice began speaking "Hello, was that a Hunter, just then?" And he took his hood off, to reveal it wasn't a HE at all. A woman that looked like she was in her mind 30's, grass green eyes and long blonde hair, stood in place. "Woah, first things first, lady" Liam said, As you probably know right now, Liam is a very stubborn and awkward man "Who are you and where are you from" The woman stayed silent "I think I can answer your second question, I know weapons pretty well, and I recognize that gun as an Erazian "Sawshot" Liam's jaw dropped "An ERAZIAN? Are you fucking serious!?" He turned to her "You were the exact people who ruined life for us Velonians, and the entire world" he yelled, but somehow, the woman remained calm "You don't look or sound like a Velonian, you sound like your a Kryptian" The woman pointed out Liam's obvious British accent "Well, good point, but I still count as a Velonian citizen" Matt sighed and felt like facepalming, while Daniel looked outside at the pickup truck, a pickup truck that actually WORKS! Matt, in a low, embarrassed voice, muttered "I'm Matt, this is Liam, and that guy over there is Daniel, or Dan, whatever" The woman waited a few seconds, before saying "My name 's currently "Arrow" Liam laughed "Arrow, Seriously, what the fuck did your parents think of?" The woman walked closer to him "I used to be a spy, I don't give out my name, but that was what people used to call me back then, so laugh all you want, I don't care"

Daniel ran up to them "Guys, there is a working pickup truck outside that works!" The others suddenly looked at him, a flash of hope beamed on their faces, all except for Arrow "Yes, that's mine, but I don't think I want to transport this "Liam" bastard"

"Shut up" Liam muttered

"Very well" Arrow turned and began to walk to the door.

"Wait!" Matt and Daniel yelled to her "Please, we need to get out of here now, sorry, my friend here has been angry since the apocalypse happened, please, we need your help" Matt tried to keep the lie about Liam, but it worked

"Fine, I know a trading sister around the east area of Palmera, get in, grab your things, we are heading there."
