Eurus couldn't help but feel at home with Jim beside her. He always seemed to notice when she was lonely. Eurus found comfort in the deep chocolate coloring of his eyes.
Jim reached out to turn the light off for the night.
Eurus closed a hand over his wrist.
"What?" Jim asked, turning his dark chocolate eyes on her. She felt that she could fall face-first into them and drown in their color easily.
"I won't be able to see your face in the dark," Eurus said simply. "How will I know if it's still you?"
"I won't leave," Jim assured her.
Eurus knew that she was going to say something dumb and sappy, but in her sleepy state, she didn't really care.
"What if I wake up and I'm not sure if it's you?" Eurus asked, trying her hardest not to say something dumb.
"You'll know it's me because I'll do this," Jim said.
The hand that held the back of her neck began to tickle her.
Eurus squirmed away, into Jim's arms. Jim didn't stop.
"I might have to kiss you if you don't stop," Eurus warned.
"I'll kiss you first," Jim warmed.
He pulled her closer.
"So you won't turn the light out?" Eurus asked.
"That's what all this is for, isn't it?" Jim asked, his expression neutralizing.
"No," Eurus answered. "I just like hearing your voice."
"Awww," Jim said quietly.
He reached out to turn the light out. Eurus didn't stop him this time.
The light was plunged from the room.
"Don't worry," Jim assured her. "I'll stay with you until the morning."
He pulled her close. Eurus felt his body heat flood her system. She wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her head in his chest.
"Goodnight," she said quietly.
"Goodnight, love."
