" Maia!!!" her mother yelled from downstairs, " time to get up!"
Maia stretched and got out of bed. She grabbed her pants, sneakers, and her button up pink top. She ran to her bathroom and got ready in there, once she done she ran down the stairs.
" Goodmorning mother" Maia said quietly.
" Goodmorning Maia" her mother nodded at her as she set Maia's breakfast on the table.
Maia sat down and began to eat and drink her orange juice fast. She was really nervous for the day ahead.
Thoughts zoomed across her mind and her worries grew the more she ate and time was shortening for her to get to school. Once Maia finished she set her plate in the sink and grabbed her backpack and sunglasses.
" Have a good day Maia" her mother said as she washed the dishes.
" I'll try! See you mother!" She yelled behind her as she ran down the stairs and walked to Lee Brice High school.
When Maia arrived there, kids were going through metal detectors while security checked their bags. She looked around at everyone and decided to follow the people heading to the metal detectors. When it was her turn, she just did what she had seen other people do. She placed her bag in a bin along with her house keys, and her sunglasses. Maia stepped through the detector and when it didn't go off she felt relieved a little bit. She grabbed her bag and her belongings and stopped at the front of a large building with a sign on top that read: ' Lee Brice High School '
Maia took a deep breath and steadied herself. ' and off I go...' and she headed to the school.
