Chapter 6

We walk into the coroners office hoping the M.E. Had some idea of what was going on.

"I have a small idea of is going on." Says Harper.
"What?" Both Me and Sean say at the same time.
"Well the tooth is an adolescent tooth and it has been pulled out no less than a day ago. As for the skeleton the dental records match to one Xavier Mactaggert, who had a tooth pulled when he was six."
"So we have our Vic and his tooth,  let's go tell the family, shall we?" I say
"We shall." Sean replied with a smile.

When we got to the Vic's home I couldn't move, something didn't feel right.
"Lauren are you ok?"
"I don't know, something feels weird."
"I can talk to the family if you would like."
"Ya, ok."
We walked up the stairs and to the door, Sean knocked and the Vic's wife opened the door and says "what's he done now?"
"Are you mrs. Moira taggert?"
"Yes? What's Xavier done now?"
"He was murdered."
"What?!?" She said as she teared up, she fell to the ground sobbing. Sean helped her up and to her couch. She sat there sobbing for almost 15 minutes
Until I said
"Do you have any children?"
"No, I wasn't able have children, but we were on the brink of adopting a little girl, jean." She began sobbing again
"Were?"
"Yes. It fell through."
"Why was that?" Sean asked
"The agency found her next of kin and they took her in."
"Oh." We said.
"Do you think this could have anything to do with the next of kin?"
"I don't know, he wasn't happy when he found out we were trying to adopt her."
"Could you tell us Jeans last name?"
"Ya, grey like the comic book character."
"Alright thank you for your time." Said Sean
"I'm sorry for you loss." I say

"What's his name again?" I say
"James Jackman" Sean replied
We had been driving for three hours and had two more to go until we would get to Jackman's house.
I took a small nap and when we got there Sean woke me up.
"Lauren, lauren, wake up."
My eyes open
"We're here." He said
"Alright."
We interviewed him and nothing added up. We asked to see jean but he refused, " she's not here she left for art an hour ago and won't be back for a few hours."

We waited but she never returned.
I decided to go snooping and found poor jeans body, I fell into tears, what had happened to this sweet girl, she was covered in bruises and blood.

I took my gun out of its holster walked quickly and quietly up to the car where Sean had been taken turn napping, I woke him up and told him she was dead, we rushed up to the house broke down the door only to find James dead, he had killed himself, his wrists slit. Laying next to him was a note it said
"I killed jean, she looked so like her mother and I couldn't take the betrayal any longer. Martha and I dated, but she cheated on me, she got pregnant with jean, and married the bastard, bingum, they moved away but I found them six years later, and killed the both of them. But spared jean, and two months ago I found jean, I needed her she was just as beautiful as her mother, so I took the identity of her cousin, and took jean in to be with me but she refused so I killed her like I killed her mother. I also killed that Xavier man, he was trying to take her away like her father did Martha. If I couldn't have her then know one could!"

I sit at my desk thinking of what I could have done when Sean came up behind me and said
"it's not your fault, you couldn't have known he would kill her."
"I know, but I still feel responsible."
"I know you do, so come get a drink with me I'll buy."
I smiled "okay." I say
We leave
The last thing I remember was Sean and I going to his place neither of us had actually had a drink, just an amazing conversation and then this morning.

I woke up in his bed, mortified with last nights events.

I HAD SLEPT WITH SEAN!

I look to the other side of the bed to find it empty, I jump out of bed quickly put on my clothes and tip toe into the kitchen only to find Sean making eggs like the first morning spent together.
"Morning" He says, disappointed with my sneaking skills I say, "morning" he turns to say, "your welcome to the shower, I'm almost done with eggs so you can shower after breakfast."
I open my mouth to say something but he cuts me off, "you find this awkward, I'm your boss and we slept together last night, but don't be worried my personal life and work life stay separate."
"Last night was proof that, that is not fully true, like you said your my boss, this shouldn't have happened." I say and head for the door.
"I know but it did and we can't change that, and for what it's worth, we seem to have feelings for each other and we've both tried to deny that but doesn't seem to work so let's please give us a go. Please?"
I turn to him and give him a look of sadness, happiness and consideration.
"Ok, but no one can know, this stays out of work completely, deal?"
"Deal" He says with a smile.

This the end of part one I will be releasing more I promise but I'm going to try to write more on my other stories and develop more plot to this one. I should have more out by July. Alright goodbye for now.
