Chapter 8

Sean's POV
My day started off with normal I woke up made breakfast for two Lauren came by we ate and we went to work I had so much pressure because of the Donna Reynolds case, a woman had been kidnapped just a week ago, and after all of that all I could think about was Juliet.

"Juliet, hi it's a-Sean Renard."
"Hi."
"I was just wondering is a-a Nick there?"
"No, not yet I'm not sure where he is."
"Oh ok. Well you know I'm a, this is probably none of my business but I'm a little concerned about him, he a-a, he's kinda been on edge lately."
"Ya I know."
"You know sometimes it helps to talk about it."
"What has he said something to you?"
"No no, no he hasn't it's uh, you know cops don't usually talk about these things they uh, keep things inside until something happens."
"Ya um I don't know i mean I guess things really haven't been that easy."
"You know it's uh probably best if we didn't talk about this over the phone, I could always um meet you tomorrow for coffee, how about café Del?
"Ya maybe that's a good idea."
"Does 2:30 work?"
"Sure ya ok."
"Ya great well uh, I'll see you there." I hang up the phone and thought 'what are you doing?' I sat down at my desk and worked on some paper work.

HOURS LATER
a call came in a man by the name of Adrian Zayne had confessed to the kidnapping of Donna Reynolds.
When we arrived at the storage unit she was in I picked up my phone to call the two detectives on the case, Burkhardt and Griffin.
"Griffin."
"Is nick at the precinct?"
"No captain Nicks with me, were at the suspects house."
"Can I speak to him as well?"
"Hold on, let me put you on speaker." Said hank
"Ya we've got Donna Reynolds, she appears to be alright. Do we have the suspect in custody?"
"Uh sir the suspect is, he appears to have been tortured." Said hank
"The suspect is dead." Said Nick
"We just got on scene."
"Captain." Said a voice behind me it was sergeant Kent
"Ya."
"Press is here. How do you want to handle it?"
"Tell them this is a active crime scene. And I'll do a press conference later." I put the phone up to my ear again and say "meet me back at the precinct." I hang up to the phone to see the young Donna Reynolds, scared. I say, "Donna I'm Captain Renard, we've notified your parents who are going to meet back at the hospital, now we've got the guy who did this, ok?" She nods "everything is going to be alright I promise.", "thank you." She cries

ONE HOUR LATER
When I arrived back at the precinct we listened to the confession it was horrific.
"That's it, according to the 911 log call came in at 9:36 pm from the land line registered to Adrian Zayne and lasted 49 seconds. Whoever is torturing him never speaks."said wu
"When did you arrive at the suspects house? 9:45, why?"said hank
The intern Ryan walks up "anything else?" He says
"No, thanks Ryan. But uh stick around you might learn something " Wu answers
"Pull up the crime scene photos." I say
"Wow." Says Ryan
"Ya make sure you wanna get into this line of work before you get into this line of work." Says Wu
"Does anyone know what that symbol means?" I ask
"We're running it through the system right now but nothing so far."
"Any theories as to who did this?" I say
"None so far."
"The press is going to take the vigilante angle and run with it." I say
"How much do you want to give them?" Hank asks me
"I say all of it. If someone knows what this symbol means maybe they'll come forward." I reply
Sergeant Donovan approaches,"Hospital called, their releasing Donna Reynolds In twenty minutes, press are wondering when you'll do the press conference."
"On my way."
10 MINUTES LATER
" The kidnapping victim Donna Reynolds was rescued this evening at 9:47pm by police officers at the third precinct after 911 call, she has been released from the hospital in good health and has been safely reunited with her family in seclusion. The suspect Adrian Zane was confirmed as the kidnapper and was found murdered in his home earlier this evening. It appears Mr. Zane has been tortured before he gave his confession admitting to his guilt and confirming the location of Donna Reynolds. Now I can't tell you anything else about the investigation but we found a symbol and if you have any information regarding it please don't hesitate to call The Portland police third precinct. Now I'll turn all of your questions over to our esteemed mayor Sam Adams." I stepped down

Lauren walked up to me she looked worried.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
She shakes her head, "No, nothings wrong." She was lying.
"Ok, let's go home." She smiled and said "Ok."
After I dropped her off at her apartment I went home sat on the couch and took off my shoes. Then I remembered what the symbol was."

Sebastian's POV
(Sebastian is a castle spy for Sean, who is a royal bastard.)
My phone rang
It was Sean "Oui?"
"Are you alone?" He asked
"Yes." I say
"What do you know of the Endezeichen?"
"Not much except they're pretty nasty. why?"
"I think we have one here in Portland."
"I didn't think they still existed." I say shocked
"Ya well neither did I."
"Did the family send it? They're always trying to get rid of me and the Grimm."
"I do not know."
"See what you can find out." He hangs up the phone and I continue to drive.
