James natural disposition is to be more than a little paranoid considering growing up on the streets and going from being a barely surviving full time criminal at twelve to becoming a member of the bat family. Renegade james alter ego and his various methods are considered a little more ruthless than the other members of the bat family James is not above torture or death which puts him at odds against Batman, James believes in being prepared some individuals praise his practical view in life but not many.

Backstory: his mom went to prison his father is red arrow his mom kept the pregnancy from Roy and he ended up living on the streets doing jobs and stealing from house at the age ten at twelve was a professional criminal and his mom taught him three forms of martial arts and when he was twelve he was supposed break into a Argus warehouse and steal this info for 12 grand well he went and broke in but this stone called to him as he entered a he found and touched he gained the ability to learn anything 90 times faster than normal and soon after the red hood found him and sympathized with him and took him in after year of being part of the outlaws Todd dropped him off at Wayne manor where nightwing and Batman trained him and took him to school and gave him a family. At 18 he left and struck out on his own becoming a anti hero like Todd but only kills if he thinks it necessary or if the criminal is a complete sc*mbag. Around the time James was starting to re connect with his father Roy, Roy was imprisoned for being a vigilante and murdered.

People often consider James to be one of the more paranoid individuals that make up the bat family but he considers it being prepared. He's human and is subject to the same weaknesses of being human.
