The next thing I know it, we're off to solve a murder. Larry rushed out the door before I could say anything, so I just waited for Y/N to button up her rain coat again. My dad was making me try these hormone pills to improve my maturity rate at this age since most guys are extremely tall with low voices, and I'm not, but the fact that I'm just meeting my new neighbor who's literally in a sports bra and short shorts wasn't helping. I cleared my throat and blushed as I stared at my feet, waiting for her to rush past me outside.

"What are you waiting for Sal? Come on, we gotta keep up with my brother." And then she did something no girl had ever done before other than.. well, my mother.

She touched my hand. Well, grabbed it more-so. I was holding a girl's hand. I was so nervous. I'd never even had a girl touch my hand before this day because they were all scared of me, and I didn't want to lose my new friend. Well, I don't even know if she considers me a friend just yet. Oh, god, this is nerve-wrecking. Too bad I just moved in and there's already trouble. We rushed out of the room to meet Larry at the elevator, who was practically holding the door open for us. Y/N scowled at him, making him snicker as we hopped in the elevator. Then, she let it go. Loneliness washed over me like the waves at the beach when I was little, but I kept my heart inside my throat as we reached Mrs. Sanderson's floor. It was quiet and eerie aside from the guard at the door, who scoffed at us as we exited the elevator. My hand clenched into a fist. I really don't like people like this.

Y/N gently put a hand on my shoulder, making them loosen. My hand uncurled and we remained silent until we approached the guy. "Get lost, kids." The guy muttered under his breath, not caring to make any eye contact. "Sir, we were just wondering if you could help us-"

"What do I look like to you, your fairy godmother? Get fucking lost, kid!" The police officer shouted at Y/N. My hand clenched up again. "Hey, asshole, don't talk to her like that!" I yelled back at him, to which Y/N grabbed me before I could beat the shit out of him. My high voice didn't help the situation at all, for the guy mocked me as we stumbled back to the elevator, Larry apologizing along the way. I growled once the doors closed and Larry pressed the button to go back down to the basement level.

"He shouldn't have talked to you like-" Y/N calmed me by squeezing my hand gently. "Thanks, bud, you didn't really need to stand up for me like that. We were going to be forced to walk away, anyway. You're a sweetheart." She said quietly, making me blush a bright red. My mask always saved me from stuff like this, considering no one could see my reaction. Barely, at least.

"Damn, Y/N, I've never seen you flirt like that before with someone." Larry snickered, earning a playful punch from Y/N. They were a cool sibling duo, I had to give them that. I squeezed her hand back, in return getting the sweetest smile I'd ever seen. "Shut up, Larry, you're such a tease." She rolled her eyes jokingly. By this time, we'd reached the basement floor and exited the elevator into their home, once again.

"Alright, we need a plan to prove we have something for the murder." Larry said, looking at Y/N for approval. "How come?" I asked, crossing my arms. I didn't think about it, and by the time I felt stupid. "Sorry, I blurt out stuff," I chuckled awkwardly. Larry burst out laughing. "It's okay Sally Face, don't get worked up over that, I say random shit too." Y/N rolled her eyes again. "Especially when you're high on weed when Mom's not home." Larry growled.

"Shut up, Y/N!" She laughed in response to it, and there was a brief silence to respond to it. "Well, I say we coax our way into Charley's home to find evidence with some Addison Tea. That'd sure do the trick." Y/N stated, crossing her arms. Larry smiled for a brief moment, but went back to his laid back self just seconds later.

"Yeah, dude, as I was peeking into Charley's room before you were up, don't ask," He quickly added before continuing, "I swore I could see one of Mrs. Sanderson's rare collectible ponies in there. It had some blood on it, too. Or just some coffee stains, I don't know man." He said, crossing his arms. I was trying my hardest not to sneak a peek at Y/N, or her breasts. I may just stop the hormone pills at this point. Larry smirked when he saw me heating up, but he didn't say anything.

"That sounds great Lare-Bear. Sal and I can go and get the tea, and you can go up to Charley's-" Larry stopped Y/N quickly with just a quick, "oh hell no I'm not. The little shit practically hates me. Thinks I'm going to steal his ponies. Besides, how are we going to get him to not notice that we're taking it?" He asked. I thought about it.

"You know, my dad takes some sleeping pills. I might be able to grab one or two and slip it in the tea." Larry smiled. "Great idea, Sal. Now let's get at it."

Y/N and I were making our way upstairs towards my new apartment, and I was kind of nervous again. What would she say about Gizmo? Does she even like cats? Before I knew it, I was slipping the key into the doorknob like my hand would down her- oh hell no it won't!

I was red and embarassed when I opened the door. "Sorry if it's a bit messy, my dad planned on getting settled in a little later." I said, rubbing my arm. She did too. "It's okay, Sally, duh. You've just moved in. It's hardly messy, to be honest. Not as messy as Larry's bedroom, I'll give you that." I chuckled at her response before snapping back into reality. "Here, it's in the bathroom."

I creaked open the bathroom door and flipped on the light switch, creating a sudden buzzing noise coming from the light fixture. It was on top of the toilet seat, so I grabbed it, and we made our way outside. I was feeling daring, so I decided to ask her if she wanted to come over sometime. Yeah, it was kind of an awkward moment to do do, but I didn't care. "Hey, um, Y/N? Do you think you'd be available to come over sometime? You and Larry seem super nice, and-"

"I'd love to!" She exclaimed, cutting me off with a happy squeal. I was actually expecting her to be weird about it, not happy, but go off. It was.. exciting. Finally, a girl who wants to hang out with me. A person, as a matter of fact.

And what's even better than solving a mystery with a hot girl? Nothing, I believe.
