Panting and out of breath, Cisco and I stumbled back into star labs after our ordeal we both collapsed onto the floor.
I still held onto Cisco's hand as we laid there breathing heavy for a solid five minutes.
I just laid there laughing, "That mother fùcker shot me... I'm perfectly fine.
Damn that hurts like a bitch..."

Cisco sat up and faced me.
"You scared me half to death, I thought you were so dead." He laughed smiling.
"And you literally hit him with pressurized boiling water. I mean how did.. you're amazing." He was beaming, my heart throbbed.
"I'm just glad he aimed for me..." my heart dropped imagining holding him as he died in my arms.
My vision blurred, I should never have suggested going on a walk.

I felt a hand on my cheek, Cisco wiped away my tear and pulled me into a hug.
"Hey, you saved my life, I owe you one."
I gently pulled away and looked him in the eyes. He was so beautiful...
Looking away my face heated up.
"It's pretty late... uh.." I began standing up.
"I should probably get going home... Shit home.. I haven't thought of it since now...
It's been eight months since I have been home. No one has feed my dog or watered my plants! I have to get going!"
I bolted upright.
"Easy it's been taken care of, don't worry." Cisco said putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Do you still have the key, So I can get going home?"

"Like now...Are you crazy? That dude could still be out there, there is no way you can leave now." He panicked.
"Ok, ok. We'll wait till tomorrow...
Do you possibly have a fresh shirt I could borrow, mine has blood, and bullet holes.."
"Yeah, one sec I always keep a spare in the closet."

Cisco gave me the clothes and I changed in the bathroom.
They were quite comfortable and they smelled fresh, this put me at ease.
I walked into the break room with bare feet, Cisco was sitting on the pull out couch bed reading a book.
It was of the lord of the ring trilogy, he has good taste in literature.

"Good book? I have a copy myself."
I sat down next to him.
"I think this is your copy... I was gonna ask to borrow it but..." he showed me the inside cover sheepishly. My name was written in my writing in bold ink at the top of the inside cover.
"Haha wow, did you clean out my fridge to?" I laughed raising an eyebrow.
"Well... yeah, it would have gone bad anyways. I hope you don't mind but I kinda moved in... Dr. Wells said someone should look after the place and the dog..
I had just gotten evicted.. it just worked out so I stayed..."
He looked down at the book guilty.

"Hey, it's no problem you kept my puppy alive, and it was definitely the best probable solution, given the circumstances."
Our eyes met and lingered a moment, my heart fluttered.
"Well.. I'm gonna let you get some rest."
He said standing up.
"Wait, do you have a place to sleep? I mean I could move over and..." I scooted over.
"I wasn't going to sleep.. I'll be fine." He said walking backwards slowly.
"Look we have both been through quite the ordeal, you really should get some rest." I yawned sitting up.

"There isn't really another couch anything..." He sighed rubbing the back of his neck.
"There's plenty of room... if you want you could..." I gestured to the spot next to me.
"Sure, I mean if it's alright with you." He looked nervously towards the empty space. I nodded and turned over facing away from the middle of the bed.
I felt him sitting on the opposite side and wiggle in next to me.
"I'll get the light, good night." With a click I shut it off.

The room was so big and dark and empty, I stared into the void of dark for what I thought was eons.
Slowly I wiggled my way back towards the center of the bed.
My back touched a solid object and a quite gasp escaped my lips.
It groaned and I felt a pair of strong arms gently pulling me closer.
I felt safe.
