Scars and How They're Aquired

The second I picked you up,

I knew,

We'd soon become very close,

Exposing you to pressure,

In scarlet hues you spoke,

Reprimanded me with pain,

But it wasn't simply skin you broke,

All the time we've shared,

Dragging you across my skin,

All the love we've never shared,

The scars displayed within,

And this sickness that you've put me on,

It's both messed me up and kept me strong,

When all my thoughts won't fade,

And so I've written to you,

Cold and unfeeling blade.
