Chapter 2

"Your different." Matt said as he drove me home. Andy took my car. My mom wasn't very happy about me riding home with a guy I barley know, but I feel like I can trust Matt.

"Different as in good, or different as in bad?" I replied with furrowed eyebrows.

"Good. You're not like most girls. You like.. a tomboy." He said smirking at me.

"Yeah. I guess I am"

I saw an AV cord hanging from his radio. I quickly reached for it and plugged my phone in. Matt glanced at me and chuckled. I ignored him and scrolled through my playlist. I grew a smile as I clicked on "Shower" by Becky G. It came on and I sang along turning up the volume. Matt was laughing with the biggest smile in his face. I stopped singing.

"What!" I glared at him and laughed.

"Nothing, nothing. It's just your actually really good."

I blushed. Then I quickly started to sing again. Matt joined in. My mouth dropped and he was the only one singing. He was angelic! He thought I was good? He should listen to himself!

He stopped.

"Like what ya see?" He asked laughing.

I didn't realize I was still staring at him.

"Oh, um, your just a hundred times better then me at singing."

He blushed, "Really? I never noticed."

"Yes! Your amazing!"

He smiled and turned up the radio. We sang together. His smile widened along with mine. The song ended just as he pulled in my driveway.

"Thanks for the ride. I had fun." I smiled and blushed.

"It's still cute when you blush." He said still smiling.

I lay in the grass as the sun shines down on me. I hear a twig snap. My head spins around. Matt. He walks over and sits next to me.

"Hey, babe."

"Hey." I smiled.

Babe? Why'd he call you babe? He slowly leaned in, looking at my lips. I found myself doing the same. We got so close, our lips brushed.

"Alex! Come eat breakfast!"

I jolted awake at the sound of my mom. My hand flung to my lips. I slowly brushed my fingers over them.

"It was just a dream." I whispered to myself.

"Alex!" My mother screamed again.

"Mom, chill! It's Saturday!"

"Don't back talk me!" She hollered back.

I sighed and rolled out of bed. I walked downstairs in my sweatpants and tank top. I rubbed my eyes and scratched my head. I took my usual seat in the kitchen and ate.

"Mom, why in the Hell did you wake me up on a Saturday?" I said with a groggy voice.

"First of all, watch your damn language. Second of all, your friend, Matt, called. He's coming to pick you up at two so go get ready. Wear something nice!" She said with sternness in her voice.

"Fine." I said with a mouth full of eggs.

I swallowed and ran upstairs to my room. I panicked. What do I wear?! I took a deep breath and ran to my closet. I slipped on my, tight in all the right places, camouflage dress that can down mid-thigh. I wrapped a red checker print flannel around my waist and slipped on my light brown combat boots. I walked in my bathroom and curled my hair, and put on some makeup.

I ran back down the stairs and walked back to the kitchen where my mother still was.

"Honey, you look amazing!" She said excitedly while giving me the signal to twirl. I twirled and struck a pose at the end. I laughed.

"Thanks, Mom."

*beep!* *beep!*

"That must be Matt. Love you, Mom!" I said running over to her and giving her a hug. I ran out the door and ran towards Matt.

"Hey! So where are we going."

"It's a surprise." He said with a smirk.

I smiled back.

"Oh, how I love surprises!" I said sarcastically while rolling my eyes.

"Don't worry. You'll love this one." He said with a wide smile across his face.

We parked on the side of the road next to a small forest growth.

"C'mon." Matt said climbing out of the car.

He walked over to me and reached for my hand. I let him take it as he pulled me through the brush. We started to climb up a hill.

"Good thing I didn't wear heels." I said looking down at my feet.

He laughed and helped me climb. Once we reached the top, we walked until we were out of the brush. The light shone bright in my eyes. Once my vision cleared, my mouth opened in awe. There, right in front of us was a huge waterfall with a lake that it emptied into. The sun made the water glitter. It was so beautiful.

"Oh. My. Gosh." I said, letting out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding in. "This is amazing. Matt, how did you find this?"

"I was just walking one day and I found it." He said finally letting go of my hand, "Here." He said opening his back pack and laying out a blanket.

We slipped off our shoes and sat down. The grass underneath us was plush and soft. He reached into his book bag and pulled out two small bologna sandwiches. He handed me one. I just sat it on my lap and looked at the lake. When an idea popped in my head.

"Matt!?"

"What?" He asked looking confused.

"Can we swim in the lake!?" I asked excitedly.

He smiled and slipped of his shirt. I could help but look at his toned abs.

"You coming or are you just gonna stare?" He asked with a smirk.

"I could do both." I said shrugging my shoulders with a laugh.

He laughed back, "C'mon!" Matt said as he ran into the lake.

While he was underwater I slipped off my dress and let it fall. I walked quickly to the water before he saw, but he came up just in time. He scanned me up and down smiling. I walked in the rest of the way. Once I was completely in, Matt smiled and went under water. My eyes widened when I felt his hands grab my waist.

"Ma-", was all I got out before he pulled me underwater. His hands led up to my face. I couldn't open my eyes under water. Suddenly, I felt his lips on mine. I blew bubbles into the kiss because I needed air. I quickly came up to the surface. Matt came up too. He looked at me and smiled. He swam closer to me. We were so close now our bodies were touching. I wrapped my legs around his waist. He smiled even wider. He kissed me. I felt a spark, like it was suppose to happen. The kiss grew as he slowly carried me out of the water without breaking the kiss. We separated once we got completely on land. He laid me down on the blanket and hovered over me smiling. I smiled back.

"That was amaz-", I couldn't finish my sentence because, once again, his lips were on mine. I smiled and laughed into the kiss. I think I'm falling for him.
