a small child curled up with her knees against her chest, her heart beating fast and uncontrollably. she felt as if the room walls were caving in and she had no way of getting out.

the yelling of one her parents who she slightly resembled with her soft chocolate skin color, her plump bottom lip that stuck out more than the top lip. the other she was a splitting image of with her big brown doll like eyes, her long eyelashes that she would blink rapidly when scared or she wanted something, her button nose that would tremble when she cried, her big chubby cheeks that her mother would kiss to make all the pain, sadness, and hurt go away.

her mother's ear piercing screams poked at her heart, she wished she could do something to make her father stop but it wasn't possible for her to. she liked to wish that her parents weren't fighting but were watching a scary movie instead.

the whooshing of air could be heard, it reminded her of the time she got in trouble and earned a butt whooping. he was whooping momma, she thought.

her eyes filled up with warm wet tears that dripped down her cheeks, her nose and bottom lip started to tremble in sadness. she shut her eyes and silently prayed like her grandma taught her before she passed away.

" lord please help mama get through this. lord please help me get through this," her soft voice spoke with a small rasp from her crying.

she walked off away from the cause of her childhood pain feeling a pint of happiness in the pit of her darkened heart. it was until she walked out of the basement where she just killed her father that she realized she had murdered someone at the age of twelve.
