"I'm glad the murderer is out of camp...." Flamepaw mewed happily as he padded past Sparkleflight.

"Me too." Sparkleflight agreed. Sparkleflight made her way into nursery. Brightsplash and Shimmerpaw were inside the nursery.

"Brightsplash, Batsparrow assigned you to a dawn patrol with Tidestar, Silverpaw, Lakepaw and Free. Shimmerpaw, you are on patrol with Snowsleek, Birdfly and Mosspaw." Sparkleflight mewed to them. Shimmerpaw and Brightsplash nodded and padded out of the camp.

Gillypaw padded inside of the nursery. "Oh, i was just about to tell them...." Gillypaw said. "It's okay."

"Sorry, do you want to go eat?" Flamepaw asked her. But what he didn't know is that someone had put some deathberries in the mouse he was going to eat. He bit into the mouse. Gillypaw bit into the thrush she got.

"Gilly—" Flamepaw choked. Gillypaw looked up and the thrush she had bitten into, the fresh-kill dropped from her mouth.

"Batsparrow!" Gillypaw yowled. "Come, now! FLAMEPAW! Wake up!" Gillypaw stepped over the mouse and went over to Flamepaw and prodded him in panic. Batsparrow was already at her side, inspecting the mouse in fright.

"No," Gillypaw chocked on her words. "not Brightsplash's other son.....no!"

"I'll go get Brightsplash's patrol!" A small mew piped up. Gillypaw wizzed around to see Quietkit and Hydrangeakit.

"N-no, you can't!" Gillypaw yowled after them as they ran out together. She ran after them but Batsparrow stopped her. "Why-why're you stopping me from catching up to them! The murderers could be out there!" She screeched. Pansypaw and Tangle ran out of the camp to run after them. She shook him off and ran after her sister.

~ Brightsplash's patrol ~

"Good job!" Tidestar called to Lakepaw. Brightsplash came back with two mice.

"You go catch something." Brightsplash said as she took the spot for lookout for anything bad.

The murderer was behind a bush, looking at Brightsplash. The murderer could hear Quietkit, Hydrangeakit, Pansypaw, Tangle and Gillypaw running towards them. Making it quick, the murderer jumped out and jumped into Brightsplash, smashing her down into the ground.

"Grrr...." the murderer growled.

Brightsplash looked up at the murderer. "It's you!" She growled to the murderer. The cats white whiskers twitched.

"Yeah it is." The murderer answered.

"How dare you kill Rabbitpaw." She hissed.

"Oh, we also killed Flamepaw." The murderer hissed.

"No! Flamepaw! You—you—you are such an—" the murderer cut her off by slicing her eye with their claws. "Ahh—" the murderer sliced her belly and blood started to pool from her belly. The murderer jumped off her and ran through the trees.

"Brightsplash!" A little sad mew peeped from a few fox-lengths away. The bushes rustled and out came Quietkit and Hydrangeakit. "Brightsplash....." Hydrangeakit trailed off.

"What happened?" Another small peep came from up in the trees. The tree leaves rustled and Stumblekit and Glazekit came down. Confettikit jumped out of the bushes.

"Brightsplash!" Stumblekit wailed.

Pansypaw, Gillypaw and Tangle came out from the bushes. "Kits?!"

Tidestar padded back with her patrol. She emerged from the bramble bush to come face to face with something unexpected. "Kits?!" She mewed in surprise. "No. Brightsplash!"

All the kits looked over the dead mother in sadness. Pansypaw prodded Brightsplash. No answer. Pansypaw shook her head.

All the cats sat in silence for a little bit. "Let's go." Tidestar mewed quieter than normal, her stomach tightening.

~ in camp ~

"We've had another murderer, we still don't know who the murderers are and they're still in camp!" Tidestar hissed.

"We can't let them know who the murderers are...." someone whispered extremely quiet to the other. The other nodded.

"Who's the murderer! Show your faces!" Glazekit screeched. "We'll rip you up!"

"BRIGHTSPLASH NOOOOOO!!" A sudden unexpected wail came from Blossomfrost.

Hailstorm who was next to him, was sitting grumpily and looking at the prey that had killed Flamepaw.

"Don't eat that!" A quick mew came from Birdfly. Hailstorm looked up at her, his mouth open slightly as he tried to process what she had said.

He sunk into his pelt, not smiling, nor looking angry. He looked rather......sad.

"Ugh, who's the murderer!"

"Yeah! Find the murderers!"

"We can't have any more murderers in camp!"

"Not around the kits!"

"The kits will die!"

"Shush!"

"I accuse...."
