The next few days consisted of me staying in the hospital bed and the nurses making sure Indie was ok. Alfie was there with me the whole time except for when he had to buy baby things. I felt that I got closer to him and really started to forgive him for leaving. Finally with the doctors blessing we got to take Indie home for the very first time.
Alfie placed the baby seat in the car and I gently placed Indie in it. Alfie and I carefully pulled the straps around her arms and buckled them into the centre clip. We stared at each other both giggling, both with the surreal feeling that we now had a beautiful child to look after. I softly kissed Indies smooth cheek, she was perfect, absolutely perfect. I headed into the front seat of the car noticing Alfie was still looking at Indie.
"Come on, babe" I said.
"Just wait, I'm coming" he replied as he left a kiss on Indie's cheek.
I turned around to notice Indie sleeping peacefully in her car seat, we were nearly home and I couldn't wait to see what Alfie had done with the nursery in my flat. As we arrived zalfie quickly got out of the car to lift Indie out. I grabbed my suitcase full of clothing and things I needs for the hospital and headed for the door.
We headed up the lift and I got so excited. The lift door opened and Alfie placed the key in and opened the door. I headed straight for Indies room. I saw the door with Pink letters with gold embellishments spelling out 'INDIE'. As I opened the door I gasped with excitement, it was gorgeous. The cream painted walls, with a cute pink cot. There was a pink bed side table decorated with a rose gold lamp. Toys everywhere, Alfie had gone for it. A full toy box to my right and a xylophone by the white rug under the cot. It was lovely and I never knew Alfie was the best person to style a baby room.
